What is a good basic diet for detox?

The worst of my withdrawals should be over even by tomorrow, but then I want to concentrate on diet to help with continued detox and recovery. But, I haven't the money to spend on exotic foods and mountains of supplements, so I'd like some advice on which of the basic, everyday foods to use for lunch and supper. I do have a mega-formula breakfast formula though, so that meal is taken care of.

I'm thinking simple things like tuna salad, chicken breast, etc. but those more suited to a detox diet. What do the MWO forum members suggest?

alot of fruit and veggies to detox. also dandelion tea is good for the liver, as are leafy greens, and, believe it or not, coffee! green tea, rice, fish...simple and full of nutrients, i'd say.

And that is not good. Drinking messes with your pancreas, as does sugar.

Turning to sugar blew my first quit! I was substituting alcohol with chocolate. This time I eat a very good evening meal, loads of veg and protein and the ONLY sweet food I allow myself is fruit and yoghurt.

This time the quit has been a breeze, but this is also down to altered thinking.

The first time I 'gave up' drinking, this time I 'quit'. Small words BIG meaning.

              But eat well.....it really helps

Do you have Glutamine? It stops sugar cravings as well as alcohol, it tastes sweet but is a protein.

I have neither sugar nor alcohol cravings. Right now I only have a salad craving.

i do, i should take it more often...i'm not good with supplements. but, i'm at 42 days sober and doing well, so i'm not going to stress about a few sugar cravings.

not to be an alarmist but sugar is certainly not benign. Indeed a decision between an al binge and a sugar binge I know which I'd prefer but consider that NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease) is now affecting 1 in 3 Americans and has reached epidemic proportions. soon it will be a leading cause of death and is already costing our nation billions of dollars in treatment. High carbohydrate diets are literally killing us. and sugar of course is the ultimate carb.
when I quit I had BAD sugar cravings and ended up doing a ton of research on the subject. the similarities in al/sugar metabolism is frightening.

There is a Holistic Medical Center in Southampton PA. They sell a lot of different detox and I and my friends tried a few of them. All work great. There website VivaHealthyLife and you can always call them.
