    Eat for Heat

This is a healthy eating book that I found very interesting. It's title refers to raising your metabolism. The author, Matt Stone, has a blog with much of the information on it. He is anti extreme diets, especially paleo. It is only available as an e-book. He thinks many people drink too much water and need to increase their salt and carb intake. He seems to be a good information researcher.

Here's some info on the author: Meet Matt Stone – 180 Degree Health

and here are some of his thoughts on drinking water: Your Body is Mostly Water? Not Exactly – 180 Degree Health

Well I agree on the first point, but the rest is highly debatable imo. Is he a doctor?

      No, just a nutrition writer/researcher.

I think I read you have digestive issues labelled GERD. I would be careful following this guy Sunbeam.

He sells books, has a blog. People can pay him for consults. Honestly, I don't know how people like that make a living. Yes, I have GERD. I pretty much have followed the Koufman low fat/low acid diet for the past year. I'm off my PPI since last spring, just taking Zantec which is a good improvement. I would love to reduce my gas, actually. I'm also trying some ideas from the another heartburn diet, but not seeing an improvement so far. I like Matt's thinking, but he really isn't intending to address my problem. I did get some ideas from reading his book, but they may not appeal to you. I posted this just because his approach is different, and someone might be interested in that. I expect that people who have not read his work would not agree.

Who knows how many websites and products he might sell. I just know in my business most people did not drink enough water. Sure there are some drinking too much and not replacing precious electrolytes but the former is the bigger problem regarding health issues of all kinds. I've said it before, if anyone really wants to live up to their health potential follow the Eat Right4Your Type plan.

I'll google that, thanks. I don't expect answers, just ideas to try.

i've always read that the blood type diet is a bunch of hooey, there is no medical basis for it.

Mmmmmmm.... too much water? Wish that was MY problem. No such thing imho.

                      Hello RC!

I lean more to the protein side of things... and when I follow it and cut out simple carbs it is defo an improvement.

Bettygirl... what is your blood type?

Bettygirl, I agree with you. You might enjoy Matt Stone's writings. There is a lot of free information on his web site, and the reviews from his book contain a lot of good information. His book is just $10. He isn't selling any supplements, just good information about eating normal food. I started this thread hoping to connect with others that have read his writings.

Sunbeam, I've heard that Deglycyrrhizinated licorice is helpful for your type problem. Maybe RC can ring in on that as well. I've heard good reviews.

Thanks, Slay. The Healing Well forum is an excellent resource for all the remedies. But I ended up eating a low fat diet with most of my fat at dinner. That did not provide enough digestive fuel during the day. Eat the Heat helped me realize that.

Sunbeam out of curiosity how is paleo an 'extreme' diet? there are a good deal of folks looking to make money on the coat tails of the huge success of the paleo lifestyle but there are a TON of misconceptions about what it is. Paleo can range from vegan, to vegetarian to high carb (yes) to moderate carb, to low carb, to ketogenic. the whole spectrum. it's the absence of artificial and processed foods that makes it work. just wanted to clarify.
