    Eat for Heat

    Hi Det!
I don't know enough about the paleo diet to answer your question, but here's a link to his book on that topic: 12 Paleo Myths: Eat Better Than A Caveman: Matt Stone: Amazon.com: Kindle Store. You could probably get the flavor of his thoughts by downloading a free sample and reading the reviews.

I suspect his partial answer to your question lies within the flip side of your statement: how can anyone promote a diet that is so widely defined?

The healthy eating information he writes I find more interesting than any I have read in awhile. The truth is elusive, I am fond of saying, so I don't think he has the answers. I guess he doesn't think so either, people comment that he changes his mind a lot as he finds new information.

Agreed it is helpful Slay. I wouldn't go looking for any magic bullets though. Giving full attention to the diet with supporting supplements is the only way to reverse heal the tissues the support body systems.

        Hello RC!

I lean more to the protein side of things... and when I follow it and cut out simple carbs it is defo an improvement.

Bettygirl... what is your blood type?

          Eat for Heat

Cut and pasted from a private communication. Thought I would further share my perspective on the eating plan suggested in the book.

"My smell test is my experience (both personal and clients testimonies), intuit and follow the money. I am always cautious of what the medical puts out as fact or merely disinformation. Criminal it is.

In 2001 I had the opportunity to have some folks offering live blood analysis (nutritional microscopy including both light and dark field) in my store to my clients and of course potential clients (good business). The magnification in this type of testing far surpasses that in a typical medical lab situation. Sorry I forget the actual numbers. In lieu of rent for space in my store, I got the benefit of being tested q/6 weeks.

I followed the book as best I could trying to focus on not only eliminating the negative foods but eating as much from the highly beneficial category and less from the neutral. My first analysis showed brilliantly coloured large cholesterol crystals (wow factor)trying to push their way through my cells, various blood cell anomalies, bacteria, parasites, candida and signs of severe inflammation. Ugh! Alanis Morissets song, I'm Sick But I'm Pretty, kept was playing in my head when I left that first analysis.

I was already eating, through self discovery, much like the "diet" suggested. However, with further knowledge provided by the analysts, the book, stricter compliance and the addition of specific supplements(which the book also provides), my blood continually showed improvement. I was particularly amazed by the continued improvement throughout a Christmas season of sweets and increased alcohol consumption as well as extreme(and I do mean extreme) stress due to a nasty marriage breakdown. Never underestimate the effects of stress.

Other customers experienced the same improvements and it was self evident that those who did not were not as compliant.

I actually was quite religious for 4 years with it. The side "benefits" of getting rid of those nasty critters and improving my blood was physically feeling and looking 30 at 45. I kid you not. I wish I was able to follow it again the way I did then.

I really highly suggest it, even if you are not strict with it, it will give you overall insight about your blood type, perhaps yourself and how to live healthier.

I also caution people on the use of soy products, not only is it rarely non gmo now, but the studies of it's benefits neglect to reveal that it must be used in a fermented form to be beneficial. It is an estrogen mimicker and there are many cancers stimulated by estrogen.

Here's a couple links I think would help explain things:

I'ma B....don't get hung up on negative or positive, although he does refine it more in later books. I never got that far. "

            Eat for Heat

            Hi RC,
I don't know which book you are quoting, but it is not Eat for Heat. I have added to my first post on this thread links to intro to Matt Stone, and recent thoughts on drinking too much water.

Maybe you want to start a separate thread on eating by blood type? That might be less confusing.

RC I will always look forward to your posts. I just think in this section particularly it would be most helpful to have different approaches on separate threads so people can read about each of them, and decide what makes sense to them.

Yes Pollywog, many things he writes make sense to me. I sometimes have trouble falling asleep. His suggestion is to keep a small container if 5:1 sugar/salt near your bed, and put a spoonful under your tongue when this happens. Worked for me last night.

                      Eat for Heat

Thanks for the info Sunbeam. I don't mind the fact that he changes his mind, anyone that is staying up with the cutting edge of any science must keep an open and evolving outlook. I don't like his put-downs of paleo to promote his way. If his way is the best it should stand on its own merit. I don't accept any methodology as absolute dogma, but rather try to find the commonality in what really works. For me this has been a synthesis of paleo as defined by dr Matt Lalonde and the additional 'fine tuning' of my macronutrient timing by the research of John Keifer.

Ditto RC on soy. Not good food for humans.

Thanks, Det. Never stop learning, never think you have found the answer. I will google the people you have mentioned. The definition of healthy eating is pretty different in Matt Stone's views, and seems to mesh with a GERD diet I have recently started.
