Declinol Journal #2 - Changing Tactics
Thanks, Looking. No alcohol again last night! I feel better than I've felt in long time. I've got to keep this streak going. Committing myself to positive evening (my drinking time) activities that leave no possibility for drinking, is my key. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Mid 6 weeks report
Well, I'm in the middle of 6 weeks on the program, but more importantly for me is that I am now on day 12 alcohol free. I don't remember a stretch this long in my 18 years of very heavy drinking. I'm more determined now to stay this way because I just feel a thousand times better. My blood pressure has normalized to to 120/77 and my daily walks have increased to 4 miles daily. I've lost 15 lbs. in two weeks. No longer am I gorging on every food in sight after a night of heavy drinking. I'm sleeping more soundly now and not snoring as loudly(according to spouse). Everything is clearing up and looking brighter. I know of the possibilities of repercussions because of long term bodily damage, but I'm also more determined than ever to heal. I'm not going to say that if I can do this anyone can, because I have too far to go to achieve permanent success. I am, however going to revel in the victory I've achieved so far. At this time, it is working for me, and I am grateful.

Declinol Journal #2 - Changing Tactics
Hi Looking,
I do know that my cravings are not as strong taking Declinol. Also, when I was drinking, I felt like I had "enough" much earlier, therefore I drank less. Do I think it's a cure? No. But for me it's been a powerful tool, so far. I know that my resolve to quit is much greater this time. I've been facing some serious health issues with alcohol. I'm convinced that serious alcoholics have to hit rock bottom, so to speak, before seriously tackling the problem head on. Some get arrested, lose relationships, jobs, etc., before they "wake up." For me, it was health and quality of life. For me, looking down a full bottle of whiskey, is like looking down the barrel of a loaded pistol with my worst enemy holding the trigger. It's to that point. I assume everybody here is at that point too. I know I've read some horror stories that seem much worse than mine. Mine is bad too, because let's face it, what do we have if we don't have our health.

Declinol Program Completed!
I'm writing this at the conclusion of 8 week Declinol Program. I am currently 27 days sober and feel better than I have in 20 years! There is little doubt in my mind that Declinol greatly diminished my desire to drink. Within the first few days of the program my desire dropped dramatically. 4 weeks ago was my only real drawback when I hit the bottle hard at 16 oz. hard liquor. I had a devastating hangover as a result and I haven't had a drop since. I had greater resolve to quit this time, because of serious health issues. For me Declinol helped make my resolve to quit easier. It's not a cure by itself and in my contacts with the company, they made it clear that it wasn't meant to be a cure. But, it has been a tremendous tool for me to quit drinking for good. My liver area has all but quit hurting and I've gone from a daily walk to jogging, not running, just jogging, but this such a great step for me, because of my health matters. I feel my overall health and vitality improving with each day. It is just a pure joy to be clean and sober. My goals are to eventually compete in triathlons at age 55! I have been converting to Paleo type foods and giving up the sugar habit. In conclusion, Declinol is not a cure but it sure is a super-tool I have used in my arsenal to quit. I give it a huge thumbs up.

Declinol Journal #2 - Changing Tactics
Thanks, Looking. I'm now 39 days sober and feel like I did before I first started drinking back during my college days. Just a few steps slower! Sober is a new and better high for me! I know that I am never completely "out of the woods" so to speak when it comes to drinking, because, probably like most alcoholics I have an addictive nature. In high school and college, I ran, ran, ran, all the time, and was addicted to the activity. Sadly, that addiction for me eventually became alcohol consumption by my mid-thirties. There's a book I read many years ago, called "Positive Addiction" that rang true for me, but I since lost track of it. The basis of the book calls for trading a negative addiction, like drinking alcohol of course, for a positive addiction, like long distance running or biking, etc. I'm finally using that concept I learned years ago to get to running, especially in the evenings when I normally drink.
As I've told you, Declinol, with its Kudzu extract, and other herbs, with nanotechnology, of which I know very little about, helped my willpower to stop. I have tried so many products, programs, and doctors in the past, which in the end, didn't work for me. I've been disillusioned, depressed, despondent, you name it, as a result. I'm so GLAD that they seem to be so confident about this product that they are now offering a money back guarantee, which to my understanding, allows anyone, who has not benefited at the conclusion of the program, to receive a 100% refund of their money. Well, I guess it can't get any better than that! I appreciate the people at Declinol.com for providing that offer as their latest benefit. Hey, if you don't benefit, get all your money back.

Hi Chillipepper - Congratulations! I wish you continued success. It sounds like you have done amazing! You mentioned increasing the dosage of Declinol. How much extra did that run you? It's already a fairly pricy program - although as you point out - what is your health worth? Thanks and hope you are able to respond.

Declinol Journal #2 - Changing Tactics
Hi guys! Sorry if I'm late checking in as I was away a couple of days. My understanding is that if you go through the full eight week program and don't feel like you are fully recovered you can either get your money back or another 4 week supply at no charge. If you purchased the eight week program, at any time, I guess for as long as you OR the company lives, you can purchase an additional 4 weeks for $89.00. That's the way I understand, but remember I'm not an employee. I would contact the Declinol folks for the definitive answer. I purchased the additional 4 weeks at $89 because I didn't want to keep asking for "free" stuff. Half is still unused, as I didn't need it. I panicked when I "fell off the wagon" that one time and wanted more. In short, I believe the kudzu extract is a powerful tool in anyone's arsenal to beat alcoholism. I can't lie because I still struggle today with thoughts of drinking, but I haven't gone back. As I've gotten in better shape, my thinking is now toward my new goals of running, biking, and swimming! Hey, if you do those three plus work a full time job, then there's not much time for drinking, is there? Declinol was the tool to help me get there. Look, in my opinion there IS no magic bullet in defeating alcoholism. I, like most of you, have been there and done that. I was at rock bottom with my health and well-being on the line. Either quit or die early. I still believe we all have to get to that rock bottom point before we finally change or die. I still had to have the WILL to quit but Declinol helped a person with very little will to quit, as of now. I'll never say I'm completely out of the woods with this since I'm so early in sobriety, but wow, I'm seeing everything so much more clearly now and have developed a motivation now to venture out and do other things beside hide and drink. Grab that tool that gets off the drink and run with it as far as you can go! I love mywayout because of us like minded people seeking to get out of our terrible mess. Thanks for your support and I FULLY support you too in the quest to defeat this terrible disease.

Declinol Journal #2 - Changing Tactics
Hello, Fred
I see Declinol as a "natural" replacement to a drug like baclofen. I want to be clear that baclofen DID work for me, but the sleepiness I was having at work made me want to look for a more natural alternative. Declinol proved that answer for me. However, baclofen has anti-anxiety properties, so I'm thinking of using low doses of it to address that ongoing problem I've always had. Like Arthur Amieson, a good number of us alcoholics became that way because of overwhelming anxiety. But, going back to Declinol(kudzu concentrated extract with synergistic botanicals), for me it had suppressive craving properties similar to baclofen. Supposedly, the kudzu extract is much more powerful than the kudzu pills.
