    I know you are correct -- I have done so much reading ... but you are right caffeine really should be a no no all around and Diet Coke makes it worse ... UGH! But tough love is better than nothing! La Liz

      I think some caffeine is ok, but definitely limited. Caffeine makes you anxious and that can lead to relapse, needing something to bring you down. as i recall the seven steps author requires patients to come off caffeine.

      i found when i first limited myself i was a little frantic, no more than one cup a day!

      It was like i was on auto-pilot wanting to run back for more. very similar to the booze effect.
