    Aromatherapy

I put a teaspoon or so in my mop water and not only does my whole house smell wonderful, but the floors are squeaky clean. All my customers love this too. And the wood floors are really clean too.
I like to mix orange and juniper. That's my recent experiment. I have a rainmate which is like a humidifier but not so humid in the house. A few drops in there is wonderful in between cleanings.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

      Aromatherapy

Im feeling a bit better now, I don't know what happened I just suddenly started shaking I had already been feeling sick. I have had bad anxiety over this past week and think the situation with the mad man in the shop today just was too much for me.

I have looked on amazon and found something called Rio Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Atomiser Nebuliser diffuser, it costs ?25 with ?5 delivery so its not cheap but I have read reviews and they mostly seem good, also this one doesn't need replacement pads like it says in the others. What do you all think, does this one sound better, you add water or are the ones with pads better. It is a lot to pay out but if it is good for me and I will get benefits then it may be worth it.

        Aromatherapy

I was catching up on this thread and wanted to post a couple links. I'm so happy to see so many aromatherapy fans here. And I'm taking notes. Getting some great ideas already.

        Aromatherapy and Essential Oils

This is a great site for general information about oils and their uses. It has a lot of information. It also covers safety issues which are so important. K9 and Space, since you are both new to using oils, the only safety tips I want to stress are to keep them away from children and pets, and never take them internally. Which is just common sense, I know, but I've read some crazy advice on the Internet lately to take drops orally. That is scary and dangerous advice, and best left to advanced practitioners, if at all. Ok, enough of that - just have fun.

Herbs & Oils: Things To Make & Do With Herbs & Essential Oils

This is one of my favorite sites. I follow them on FB and I swear, everyday I see something new that I just have to try making. This is less about the medicinal use of oils, and more about beauty, home, garden, etc. I've seen some really good gift ideas here.

Space, I don't think the type of diffuser is all that important. I just bought one for my car - it plugs into the cigarette lighter - and makes my commute so much nicer. I got it locally, but I see them on Amazon too.

Thanks for those links Mossy....My next thing to try is that 100% pure coconut oil...I've seen it on eBay and I've heard it's wonderful for your hair and skin

Space - maybe you could just use a cheap humidifier? That's what I'm using right now. The "diffuser" I bought was about $40...so it wasn't cheap...and it didn't even work. My oils have arrived today (according to the online tracking) so I am anxious to get home and see what I have. I put up a couple of cute shelves to store them on right above the humidifier.

K9, I never did buy that diffuser, money was tight so I decided to wait. I did however buy a very inexpensive metal ring which you place on top of a light bulb in a lamp (it must be the non-fluorescent type). You put a few drops of oil in the ring, turn the lamp on, and the heat from the bulb heats up the oil. It worked great, until my cat brushed against the lamp and spilled the oil. He was fine, but the hot oil damaged my wooden table. So much for being cheap!

Shame about the table pixie these things happen to me too.

I will check out the links mossy. I ordered a humidifier/diffuser whatever they are called, I found a cheaper one so I will give it a go, its one that you put water in and it doesn't need pads, I wasn't sure what was best so I just decided that I didn't want to be having to buy extra pads on top of the price as well. Its my started one anyway so I am looking forward to getting it.

I have the coconut oil here K9, I bought a few tubs of it a while ago when it was a big thing on here intending to eat a spoon a day and use it on my hair, nails whatever but stopped bothering. I do think all the claims it makes are maybe overated, and don't bother using it to cook its revolting, but for hair skin and nails its maybe ok, I should get it out again probably if only so as not to waste it.

Deterimator - I have to agree. Nothing like the smell of garlic to put me in a good mood.

Space - I use coconut oil on my hair. Helps with the frizzies, although if you saw my hair, you would know it's a lost cause I have a friend who puts a teaspoon of it in her coffee. I couldn't quite get my mind around that one, but she is doing it for the health reasons, and says it tastes good.

                      Aromatherapy

When I bought it I went over the top (as I always do) and got three tubs and a book on it. I used to take a big spoonful each morning, it is supposed to have good health beneifits. I have really been neglegting my health and I feel like crap so maybe I should start hanging around here more and get some tips. I will start trying with the coconut oil again. My hair is also a lost cause it is awful, when I wake up in the morning it is ridiculous.

Back to the subject, I got my machine, its like a spaceship thing with a bubble underneath then the lights up wizzing part on top. I assumed, wrongly that with so much water I would need a lot of oil so I put about 40 drops in and it was in our eyes and everything, we could hardly breath with it it was so strong. So I now know to just put around 5 drops in and it does clear the air and smells nice but my youngest son doesn't like it so that restricts it to my bedroom.

I get bad headaches a lot so does anyone know of anything I could do to help that.

                      Thanks for the advice

Space - 40 drops is making my eyes water in Wisconsin!!

I just looked it up. Here are few oils for headache relief: peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender. I'm sure there are more, but this may be a good place to start.
