      Fasting pre and post chemo

Back from chemo today and reporting in. The new drugs are working out fine. Phenergan dropped in dosage and I didn't pass out YAY!! All good. The pain in the knees and hips is an SE confirmed by the oncologist so moderate exercise, adjustments to diet and supplements. Going to have to research these for myself.

NS, finally had the chance to check those links, really interesting and have to say that mindfulness meditation is one of my favourites. I also like to bring that to breathing meditations and body scan, using it to link to yoga nidra, particularly when I teach.

Took you all in with me to treatment today, thinking of each of you. DD, know that our thoughts are with you xx

We are still at the beach. Heading for a hike today. All is good in the AF world around here!

It's great that the 2nd protocol is easier on you than the first. It always helps when there is no backtracking going on!

Is your pain something like arthritis? or a different kind of pain? I hope there are some diet and/or supplement additions or subtractions that will help alleviate that.

I'm hanging out with dogs and looking at mountains -- very easy to relax in this environment.

Talk to you soon, xx - NS

            Fasting pre and post chemo

Hey NS and Ginger, good to hear you are both well and enjoying being out and about. Love the idea of some hiking, really relaxing.

The pain is something like arthritis I would imagine NS, dull ache that seems to grow? if that makes sense. Sometimes when I get up to walk its got me doubled over and hobbling but seems to unwind as I stretch out. So I'm making sure I DO stretch out Supplementing with fish oil, glucosamine and a B complex. The fish oil and B complex were recommended by the nutritionist for the SE's and to prevent neuropathy. I've just lobbed the glucosamine on top.

I am feeling so much better now physically with the new treatment. I can't believe it. Spent some time today reading back through this thread and it is amazing how I've forgotten most of the low points. Only seem to retain the good stuff - bit of a goldfish I guess. Not having the dexamethasone in tablet form after treatment also seems to be helping with my shakes. Onward and upward. Mood swings still apparent particularly the day of treatment. I am simply a bitch so maybe I should just go into solitary on the day of treatment. Seems to have shifted today though.

DD - I'm thinking of you every day and sending good thoughts your way xx

Nothing wrong with being a bitch - especially when we know it:H
Glad this time seems easier - will the aches and pains diminish/go once the chemo is over?
Our brains are wonderful in how they seem to be able to let go of lows - the only way that we survive I reckon!
Ginger - enjoy the beach, and a bit of enjoyment for us back to the land!
DD - thinking of you too - I know you said you were taking a break, but if you are lurking, we are here for you...

:H:H I so laughed over that one SL. I said to a couple of the Undies that I'm seven shades of Sybil at the moment. I know...I said the mood swings were just on day one but jeez...continuing on that path and just cant halt it. I'm aware and I'm trying but its like being possessed Lucky in a way I'm surrounded by men/men children who just shrug their shoulders and move along...they are bloody awesome people.

I think the aches will diminish, part of the vitamin supps recommended by the nutritionist are to prevent the neuropathy that can occur. I do remember speaking to a friend who had treatment, not the same as mine though and she said she felt unwell most of the time and then one day was doing something and thought - I feel really good. So maybe that's the case for me too.

I've noticed this morning that my eyebrows are pretty much gone. I shall be drawing them on shortly and will present pictures of my artwork for you all :H:H

X-Post: Morning all.... We have started our trek home. Should be back in the land of WIFI in about 6 hours. Won't leave again until the 10th. Just wanted you guys to know that one of the MWO'ers started a new forum where we can all go and join in the event that this site goes down. It's not being moderated much anymore and the chance of losing touch with everyone has us a bit freaked out. If you are interested in joining the other form the link is here:*Login Required | Forum. You'll see several old timers have joined already. I just registered and joined. Totally up to each individual whether they want to join up but I hope you do!*__________________

RJ posted they are working on the MWO forums now so to expect some outages. They should be intermittent. Hopefully they won't last long and the site will be secure after that. Keeping my fingers crossed!

                              Fasting pre and post chemo

Checking in pre chemo tomorrow. Signed up over there too Ginger. Although, you're right all looks like its coming good here.

I am NOT fasting very well. But on the plus side, I'm eating much better than I have been. And...drumroll....exercising...walking my dog each day for about ten-fifteen minutes and I've been to a couple of yin yoga classes. Its really been beneficial for the aches, particularly those in my hips.

Ready for tomorrow, both physically and mentally. Having a nurse who understands about my fear of the port helps I think either way its a lot better now the drugs aren't as harsh.

Hope you're all ok, thinking of you DD. Wondered if you got into yoga now your girls are back at school SL?

                                Hope tomorrow goes smoothly, Happy!

Keeping your stress levels down must be important so just do the best you can on the fasting, ok? My kindergarten teacher used to say this to me all the time:
Do your best, forget the rest, and don't worry .

It's great that you're able to walk and practice yoga. I bet that feels so good. I'm going to be sitting in a car for the next 2 days and know I will be missing moving!

I'll be thinking of you :l.
