Newbies in Need - Day 2

        Hi everyone,
sounds like everyone is motivated and rockin and rollin.
Louise I'm so glad you are back from your latest vacation. I've missed you.

I've had a difficult day but no drinking involved. It's a good thing there is none in the house. It's raining and storming here so I won't get out get any either. My older Rottie Anna Rose is having a problem getting up and down. Her back legs aren't getting the message from her brain quite right, and on the wood floors she just can't coordinate very well. She is not in pain. It's not her hips. I've had this issue with an older Rottie before. We will get some throw rugs to help her get her footing so she can get up and around. But once she cannot get up anymore there is only one thing to do. Anyway, I'm just sad today. I've been through cancer surgery and other benign tumor scares with this dog and I love her so much. She is truly part of this family. Thanks for listening.

Have a great rest of the day everyone. You are doing great.

Newbies in Need - Day 2

Wow, it's exciting to see the thread get so active and with new people!!!
Just want to say a few things:

Riker, I think there are a number of different outcomes with this program. You might find that you do start a decline in your drinking habits and start to become more moderate over a period of time (months). I think this is happening to me but it has been very slow and there are mistakes. Another thing that can happen is that you realize you really can't moderate and decide to abstain. Clearly your awareness is growing and you seem interested in change, so that is good.

Louise: Sounds like you are doing what I want to do. My july was good for the most part, aside from one bad night and a few nights of going over 3 drinks. one bad night is one too many bad nights for me. I am really glad you have been able to manage that given all the social events you have gone to. I also think the hypno is very valuable and wish I would make more time for it.

          Let's have a better august!!

rottrod, sorry about your baby. I know I will be sad when my Napoleon gets old.

I've had a rough day too. I've been really moody and easily upset. I keep dropping things and slamming my hands into things and stubbed my toe. Some one is majorly pissing me off too. I went into the city to get some stuff and was soooooooooooo tempted to buy a bottle of wine, but talked myself out of it and instead of going to the big grocery to get what they didn't have in town last night I opted for the health food store. I made it home w/o buying any wine. Thank god for that!

I wish it was time to go to bed. I just don't want to start over so I'm hanging in there for today at least.

Good night and good luck to all

Newbies in Need - Day 2

Thank you everyone, especially Janice and Nancy for the kind words. I'm glad some of you know what a Corona with a lime is LOL. I must point out that my wife does NOT drink..she has the very occasional Corona or Merlot..but that is one drink per 2 or 3 weeks..not exactly my usual..

Anyways, thanks all for the support and good luck to all of you / us.. Don't give up..

              Cheers
