New as of August 2007 from Arizona

I have no idea what I am doing. I have never posted anything on a board, but, I came across this site today and you people seem to have a lot of good advice. Better than AA which makes me feel guilty everytime I relapse and go back.

Thanks for being here. I am going to enjoy reading each day and posting questions.

Welcome CoolJazz. Glad you got your nerve up. I'm sure you won't regret it. Let us know where you are (as in your alcohol relationship) and what you want, need to do. You will always find support and advice here, without judging. Many of us don't feel comfortable with the AA approach, and it's great to have this flexible, non-judgemental alternative. You are in charge here. You decide how to heal yourself. I expect to see more of you here.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Hi Cooljazz and welcome! I am also neww here, although I have been just reading the posts for about a month. This place and these wonderful people are truly inspiring!! There is so much good and practical info that you can't find anywhere else. I have tried the AA approach for several years and, like you, I never felt comfortable, just guilty.
have a great day and look forward to hearing more from you.

          Hi all!
I am new here too. Found the site yesterday, and think it's really great to see such open communication about drinking. Am just getting started, but figured I should at least say hi to get things started.

Also new! I agree Janka - this site/program has become an additional support for me - a marvellous one ...

I'm not an AA proponent either, but one thing I did take away from my (short) involvement with AA was the absolute importance of support. I've been 2 years or so without any sort of fellowship, and now I need it if I have any chance at getting on top of my substance issues.

So welcome Cool Jazz! Hope to chat more ...

                    :new: Hi

I have just literally come accross this site myself and have to say am very interested also. I have never been with AA, may be a mistake. I have never sought help for my alcohol addiction. I have been AF for five days now but only to give my self the chance to loose some weight. Had never planned on giving up! not yet anyway. Dont think i would be able to... Glad i have found this place though, you never know.

                    Best of luck

                    Dijon xx

I came here back in March and just wasn't sure, but came back two weeks ago. I have found spo much support, I am now on day 14! I did try the AA approach once, ON A DARE and it did not sit well with me at all!! Oh, well.. different strokes... anyway, stick around, read, post, and ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS!
