Hi all crashed and burned Sunday with two bottles of red - I was drunk quick and slept through it - appalling hangover today - total waste of time and emotionally I feel awful and depressed over it again. Will hit a meeting tomorrow - last week meetings slipped and not been posting here either. i am doing better though - at least its not every day or every week as it was. Take care all.

AF Anyone??
I just found this site and thread yesterday and found it very interesting to read. Lot's of support from the group and I hope the thread continues. I am in the middle of day two and feel completely horrible as I went from drinking an average of 24 beers per day down to zero yesterday. Lot's of cold sweats, shaking, headaches, and anxiety. Haven't been able to work for the past two days and have called in sick. I am hoping that I can feel as good as many of you soon. How many days does it take to feel somewhat normal?

on the www, the physical withdrawl youall are having lasts about a week
to 10, with the worst over in about 3.5 days.
Dude, why don't you see your Doc about some withdrawl meds???
help get your brain past the physical dependency.
I'm a praying for your strength Dude, Sam

Yo-Sam...thanks for the advice as it is greatly appreciated. I am trying to find a doctor that understands alcohol addiction which has been more challenging than I thought. I went to a doctor a few years ago that told me I was basically obese, addicted to alcohol, and that I would be dead by 50. Left pretty down hearted. That bascially turned me off to the hole doctor thing. However, after reading the book yesterday I decided I need to find some one. Doing some web searches today and calling some clinics to hopefully find a understanding doc!
Thanks again!

Hi all, I've been gone awhile, and now I'm back on track...good to see all the familiar names here.
Summer is upon us, and a great time to look in the mirror get life going on. Sunny days, warm weather,
all here to make us appreciate life even more. Can't say I miss the rain, and gloom off the last 4 months here. Been very busy at work and stressed and we all know what that leads to.
Caseaday, it can take a week to feel better, but when you do...you start to feel re-born. Your memory starts to return, your guilt begins to lift and life fills again with promise!! Good for you..stick it out..it can only get better.
Love to you all!!!

You wrote EXACTLY what I needed to read. Thank you for posting. Thank you thank you thank you!
I'll start Sunday, June 29th. I'll get that week. I've been so erratic but need to get stable and on it. And truly I am as ready as I'm going to be for what ever that is worth. Onward.
Again, thank you Blue Quad.

AF Anyone??
Hey you guys, just saw your posts from today and the day before.
Yeah, I am feeling pretty darn good. I am on day 25 AF.
No headaches in the morning and not many thoughts of drinking.
Great to see you are on your Day 1 Guy....way to go....I hope your next few days go smoothly.
Diane, Sunday 29th sounds like a good day to start....end of a weekend (those dreaded Friday and Saturday nights out of the way) and hopefully the week starting Monday will be fairly easy for you.
Bluequad - so nice to see you back. Yep the summer sun sure does have a way of brightening our spirits!! Good to hear you are busy at work...but yes, I know what higher than usual stress levels do for your cravings!!
Anyway, hope you all go well with your goals over the next week or so!
xxAmelia
