      What I love about not drinking!!

      Another thing I use to do was hide it when drunk and then couldn't find it. I lived alone so I had NO IDEA why I was hiding it. Talk about paranoia!!!

          And one last thing I did was fill a water bottle up with part water (small part) and voddy. Take the bottle to work with me. Sipped on it in my office. I shun at those days. I am so glad they are over now.

            I have a huge purse and backpack, numerous drawers and hiding places. I often find bottles of spiced rums in my hiding places and can never remember hiding them. I both hate and love that - I found a prize, but hith did it get there??????

              See Redgal!! You're one of the gang!!! Accountable!!!!!! Ironing used to be my favourite bit of housework!! Used to hide the glass behind a photograph frame which was strategically situated right next to my ironing board!!!!!!!!!!

                  I am looking for abstinence but will be happy with Mods since the holidays are coming up. I have made quite a spectical of myself at past holiday parties and I would really like to show that I am diff and help others like me. There is a Christian song out there that says 'If you could see me now.' and it sings how diff we are now, whether Christian, sober, whatever......it touches my heart.

                  More than anything I want to feel healthy, be healthy and have no strongholds over my life. I want to choose ice-cream over alcohol. I want to go to functions that do not include alcohol without the stash in my purse or car. I want to be FREE!!!!

                  As I sound like Sam I Am - I love this place. People that are experiencing the same thing I am........Functioning people with dysfunctional addictions.... I am HOME!!!!!!!

                      You know, I would love to give it all up but I am not sure I could. I come from a long family life of alcohol abuse. As Sophie would say:

                      Picture it: 1800s: The German/Irish Clan of the Millers moves to America during the Potato Famine.
                      1900s: The Fazenbaker/Miller Clan come together in America.
                      Since then until now: Generations of alcohol abuse/drug abuse/cig or legal abuse/ any abuse....

                      Picture it now: 2007. East Coast, new life, new friends, MWO, internet, HOPE! This is my life today. Life is Good! No, Life is Great!

                        I used to hide my bottles in between all the cleaning supplies, of course I was the only one in the house who ever opened that cupboard.

                          The best thing so far is the freedom to leave my house at anytime.
                          To be able to spend time with my kids and not be too tired.

                            I hid mine in old purses, coat sleaves, inside socks, just about anywhere!

                              -I had 3 - 4 liquor stores I drove around to so that the clerks wouldn't recognize me.
                              -I love that I can make a mistake now & simply say I'm sorry.
                              -Now, I don't drink wine/vodka out of coffee cups anymore.
                              -& Yes, I replaced more alcohol than I can count. Whenever I look at my funnel, I think of those days. I also watered down vodka so that nobody would know what was missing.

                              I love that I don't have to go through all those machinations anymore.

                                What I love about not drinking!!

                                A friend of mine used to hide her carton of cheap Spanish plonk in the washing machine as she was the only one who ever went near it- till her husband rumbled her. She then began to hide it in the toilet cistern.

                                I am so happy for her as she has been AF for around 3 years now.

                                I would hide it anywhere- clothes cupboards, jacket pockets, behind photo frames, and amongst bottles of shampoo and cosmetics. Just the other day while tidying I found a few empties that had probably been there for months.
