Just hand me the chocolate and.........I'll consider my position. My solicitor has advised me to say no more than that.

That's great Treeman and thanks for checking in.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Treeman: That's the key.... Don't beat yourself up. Continue to be aware of your addiction and moderate the best you can.

treeman, I can't add anymore than what the others have said here! Awareness is key - and it sounds like you are doing OK with the moderation.

            Children are smart........

Through these trying times, my son and I talk about a lot of things....
The other day he said: "Dad you shouldn't drink a lot of beer".....At first thought, I believed that my wife had mentioned something to him......Not so......His guidance counseler gave his class a lesson on alcohol, drug and tobacco.....

I asked him if he thought if I drank too much.....He said that sometimes when I'm with my friends I do......
I asked him why it was wrong to drink too much.....He said that it was bad for my body and could make me sick and die......He didn't want me to die.....
I told him that I don't hang out with those people any more.......He agreed, had been wondering why I don't go to their houses anymore.....
I promised him that I will never drink too much again.....He gave me a high 5......
I really don't need any other incentive than that conversation.....

            Just thought I would share.....

              A: Practice, of course.

Thanks for sharing treeman. Hang on to his words of wisdom!

I think it is awesome how some schools are starting to bring awareness to the affects of alcohol and drug usage. My oldest who is almost 14 had Police Officers come to her school last year. They mainly discussed the usage of Crystal Meth, but alcohol and other substances were highlighted in the conversation as well.

Let's just say she was very happy that I had quit drinking. (and I believe she has suffered the most from my drinking) When your own child is vocalizing about how fearful they are of your dying from it; it really puts a whole different spin on things.
