Its funny i was thinking of the word hurdle today its like each day we jump over that hurdle and run and then jump over the next one.

Hi Everyone

The lovely Sweetpea invited me to come check out the Fireworks thread, and having read through about 20 pages of posts (sorry didn't have the stamina to read all 154 pages!) I'd like to become a firecracker too

I'm on day 13 AF and doing pretty well, ie not white-knuckling it or anything, but still feeling somewhat deprived. I'm guessing/hoping this goes away at some stage?

Hi ALL firecrackers.

well to day is the 30days AF for me and it true what they say i feel a lot younger and look it as well. I do feel like its my birthday in a special way. Its all about putting your heart and soul into it, to make it work. Yesterday after reading ukblonde thread...went out for a slow run and did 4miles felt real proud of myself. There is no way i could of done this with AL in my system. so I do feel like i'm getting back that get up and go feeling inside me and it feels good. Always thought the number 13 was unlucky but not for me.
Thank you all for you lovely support, and would not of done this on my own! (without you)

I was trying to find a word of how I feel, Teardrop you hit the nail on the head "Happy Birthday" to the new you. I am chuffed as ninepence, whatever that means.....
Hurdles, there have been many, but you have hit the finish line with flying colours!
You are right, you DO need to put your heart and soul behind the idea. But it is just so worth it! 4 mile run Well done!, what an achievement! As someone who "does not do running" I admire your stamina.

Wooflet Hi and:welcome:. Well done on your 13 days AF almost half way there. Those feelings of being deprived do stay for sometime but become quieter as time goes on. AL becomes less of a focus and other things fill your thoughts. I can't really say when,I suppose everyone is different but small sutle changes happen and suddenly you stop "knowing" how many days AF you are, it becomes just the way it is.

Kat Well done on your 8 days,Really sorry that the website of no use, recieved my taster kit yesterday,Think the neighbours think a party on the horizon this week! All AF hope they last the summer.seems a lot of bottles will let you know what I think of them later.
Two Xmas's ago I had to ask my daughter if we gave dinner to my MIL & FIL was drunk before they arrived and both Mr East and I could not remember a thing! Daughter said that dinner was burn't ,but no one said a word OPPPS! Last Xmas much more organised NO AL before dinner!

Hello Wooflet, I agree, day 8 here and last night I was home alone as my husband us out of time and I was feeking alittle deprived. Made it through with some AF Sutter home and soda. Eastender 53 days is an inspiration. No problem on the AF site, I found a few US ones that have similar. Yours does have a nice selecton though. Hello to anyone I've missed and have a great day.

Another brilliant day here in the UK it makes me think of lovely things like lying on the beach hearing the waves and generally relaxing. SO I thought of me in a bikini and thought:dang: all those rolls of fat YUCK must do something about it before inflicting such a sight to the rest of the population at large SOOOOOOOOOOOOO it is Day 1 AF and Day 1 on a diet so here goes :no: AL or fattening food for me from now on until I think I look respectable :H might be waiting a long time though!!!!!!

Woolet whats the weather like in Australia at the moment? Hope the witching hour is not being too hard for you on day 14 - keep at it

East we shall soon be celebrating 60 days for you what a star. I am going to look at the AF web site you suggested and order some to have when people are here - it should stop the questions I hope

Thanks for the lovely warm welcome and encouraging words. Had thoughts of Al again at poison o'clock this evening, but as usual they passed within an hour or so. Looking forward though to the day when I forget to think about Al, I'm sure it'll come sooner or later.

Sweetpea glad you're enjoying the "heat wave". My sister lives in the UK and can't stop talking about the weather. Over here it's starting to get colder as winter approaches but we had a gorgeous sunny day today. I live by the beach so went for a lovely long walk with my puppy - I think we both appreciated it all the more for having had a couple of weeks of cold weather.

East and Teardrop congratulations on your long AF stints, what inspiration for me.

Kat20 yay on 9 days - can you believe we're really doing this?

Sweetpea you sound strong and determined and I'm sure you're going to beat both Al and the junk food. Which reminds me I need to stop rewarding myself with KFC for each AF week, or I'll turn into a blimp!

Hi all, having very stressful day today - had big bust-up with an old friend (although a drinking friend also) and being told I had let them down - I think they were a little hung over so that didn't help the mood I guess.

Anyway that got me to thinking all the times that person had let me down - mostly booze related - and now I thinking perhaps that bust up had to happen for me????

OMG am getting so deep

Anyway hope you're all doing good - Teardrop I know what you mean about these emotions it's not easy!

Hi Firecrackers,

We are sure mounting those AF days.

I have tried a couple of the AF wines, not really a very good replacement but OK when I want to "drink " with others without questions at home. Mr East tasted but did not like at all, I must say that I prefer the AF cider and beers. Great drink to have in the summer.

Kat day 9 already! Glad you found some AF supplier sites.

Sweetpea, OMG I have not done Bikini's for years! I do need to lose weight but not coming off, despite given up the drink I did find at the start that I craved sugar even though I do not have a sweet tooth, I have read that that is normal. That is probably why I have not lost anything. You are very brave giving it all up, Good Luck:l

Wooflet Weather is our favorite subject,but I envy you with the beach to walk along.
My sister and parents moved to the coast a few years back and I love to walk along the shore, even in winter when I visit. Day 14 almost half way keep going!

Teardrop, Could not sell anything that I was not really not keen on, Mr East says my face shows everything -Porky pies could not do.
Feeling good? Yes, feeling Happy? not so sure. Strange, its like when you are a kid, the anticipation of succeeding /winning is a stronger feeling than when its done or happened.
There has to be a come down.
Keeping up the momentum is another challenge , I will, like you be doing it ODAT. Facing the emotions is the hardest thing , that was the reason I hid in the bottle. I hope that this emotion is like Vesuvious, a eruption that will quieten with time.

Mad Mummy,Sorry you are having a stressful day,I know for me I was hit by everything possible this time round, almost it seemed as a test.
I know that when I was drinking I let everyone down, I was not "there" for me,let alone anyone else. I regret that now, but I cannot change the past only the future,I cannot change anyone else only myself. Take care and if she is a real friend, it will all be sorted.
