Lets get some motivation going and have a good month and make it a one to remember. Weather here today is bright and sunny Hmmmm must clean some windows. That is the only down side to bright sunshine you can see what you have been neglecting in the household chores HA HA

By the way Shelby can I book my next appointment at your practice LOL XX because my last dentist was a butcher - I went into shock and couldn't stop crying - He decided to do 6 capped teeth all in one go ( he was going to do more but I refused!!!) He ended up with blood spurting all over his chair, equipment and obviously himself :H Served him right for being such a brute - I have now changed to another dentist who is a lot gentler but even so I go into a cold sweat just thinking about it:upset: The dentist situation is dire in the UK - those who taken National Health Service patients try and get you in and out the door as soon as possible which consequently ends up in a rather rushed job in some cases. It took months for my teeth to settle down after that experience. Hey regarding texting not only my 50 year old fingers are not made for those tiny pads but my weary old eyes can hardly see the letters - not a pretty sight watching me text!!!!!!!!!

Happy July Crackers!!!! Here is to another Happy AF month. I was feeling a little agitated yesterday. I kept thinking I should be feeling happy for reaching my goal. I finally figured out that I was not, because I had reached a point where I was facing a decision of whether to remain AF or to mod. It really had me very cranky!!!!!
I decided last night, not to make a decision, other than to remain AF until an opportunity to drink came around and I would decide at that time if I wanted to drink or not. I can't spend that much energy fretting over it on a daily basis.
I just know I am not going to drink in the evenings when I come home from work any more like I used to.

Sweetpea, thank you for the Banner Thread Congratulating me! That was so sweet!!!! What a nice thing to wake up to!

Well, sorry for being "all about me" this morning, but it is my early day at work and I must get ready.

Shelby, Congratulations again. I had the same thoughts at my 30 days and decided I felt too good and knew in the back of my mind that I could not moderate. I started here on the moderation thread. I also had a slip up over the weekend at a graduation party and learned that I need to come more prepared. This confirms my thoughts on moderation for me. What ever you choose You have made a huge healthy step for yourself and its ok to make today all about you. You deserve the praise.

I think we must all think like that because we would not have the problem in the first place. When i did 40 days af i started thinking when can i plan my next drink....But i had to have a good excuse (if you know what i mean) But there was no good excuse that i could come up with. I only i had to fight off was the craving or the urge, which you have already dealt with them....BUT it is that split second you have to watch out for and be careful of. (well for me) anyway!
I panic when they ran out of af wine in my super market plus i could smell the broken bottle of wine on the floor that someone drop. Not sure if that made a different! Well i would not of had a problem other wise.

Today my son goes on his prom tonight, his got his hired suit, he does look like 007. lol all he needs is the gadgets to go with it. He does not want me to take any photos (thats what he thinks) He has got a date to go with, but he did say there are more girls then boys in there limosine. well his playing the part of james bond alright. They will go to a party afterwards and come home the next day. i just hope the suit comes back in one piece. im sure he will bring a spare change of clothes. Hmmmm i hope he does not lose the suit as well come to think of. All i can remember last day at school was the egg and flour fight.....
you know i really could do with a holiday right now just need to get away, i dont think we are going no where this year.:upset: oh well life goes on i suppose.

Hello friends, Have not posted in a few days but have been following along. Had a bad spell on Sunday and have felt alittle blue this week. Looking forward to a long AF holiday weekend. Tomorrow will be 60 days and my one slip up. What an appropriate day to be indendence day.

Teardrop, hope your son has fun at prom. I watch alot of TV land and I was watching an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies where Jetro wanted to be a spy. Double not 7 he said. Don't know if you've seen those but they are pretty funny and non depressing television.

Sweetpea, have a great couple of days off. Love your little partying people.

Shelby, REO Speedwagon ? What are they 100 years old. Remember going to see them at an outdoor concert 1982 or something. Had a box of wine and my 3 girlfriends. I drove a 1972 white Chevy Nova that one of my friends threw up down the side. There I was at 3 in the morning scrubing the side of my car so my parents would'nt see it. Sorry, blast from the past, have a great time.

Oh, Shelby asked me to let you guys know as I have been reading Codependent no More. Well, I have detatched myself from three people this week, one is my sister who has no yet gone to trial for 4th DUI Easter Sunday. Her defense and courts keep pushing it back. seems like the only person worried is me. I may be lonely minus these 3 people but I'm sure stronger.

Reo Speedwaggon I remember them from early 80's when I was leaving school - and yeah teardrop I'm with you we didn't have a prom but we did chuck a load of flour around.

I'm feeling better at last - still not used to anything other than a hangover making me feel bad - but my daughter has the bug now, poor baby (she's really not a baby is 5' 5" and almost 13!) but when she's ill she's a baby.

Sorry have not been around feeling a little soory for myself today. I have been prodded poked and squashed and today have the awful monthly curse, maybe my last one hopefully!
The mammogram was not so bad but gravity already taken its toll don't need them flattenned too! I will be tucking them into my belt when I am able to wear one!

Daughters not being supportive keep telling me that I am as strong as a OX and I will be fine. Still walking out the door leaving the washing up for me to do! Ohh I do hope I can cope. Youngest said this morning that I felt unwell," OMG Is this going to be your excuse for the next few months?" I could have ............

Anyways Have a great Independence day to all those across the pond

Teardrop I too have no holiday planned yet and a son who does'nt like his photo done! Hope it all goes well and you get both jacket and trousers at the end of the night!

Hi everyone! Just a quick post. My friends are here and we are getting ready to head out to the festival. I skimmed the posts and sounds like you all are doing well.

We went out to sing last night and I had a few beers. I am not beating myself up over it. It was a clear and conscious choice. I didn't go overboard, just had a little fun. BUT, since I haven't had any AL for so long, I woke up feeling ugly this morning. I did not like that!!!!!!! I am not going to drink today. If I do, it will be AF beer. Just not worth it for me.

I am just looking forward to good ribs, good (hopefully) music and good company. The weather is absolutely perfect! What more could you ask for?

I wish I had time to comment to each of you individually, but I do want to say one thing to Kat. Way to go on letting go of things. It is a big step. But, you feel so much better after wards, right? Keep us posted!!!! Hope it keeps going well for you!
