Hello, Where is everyone????
My Holiday weekend is over. My company is gone. It was a long, whirlwind weekend. I ended up drinking again on Friday. Ugghhhh. But that was it. REO was good. They all looked and sounded good for their age. They did a song off their new album titled Tough Love. It was in tribute to the lead singer's son's two year anniversary of sobriety. I got teary eyed. It was a good message as I sat there pretty well lit.
We stayed in last night and watched a movie and then played Wii Bowling. My husband and I didn't drink, but my friends drank and got quite tipsy. It was ok. They were having fun and so were my husband and I. My husband I discussed the difference this morning after they left. How we couldn't believe they drank the whole bottle of whiskey between the two of them. Not in a judgmental way, but just that they drank if quickly. I am glad the weekend is over. My step-son is here now and we will go to California in two weeks. Now my focus is on eating right and starting to work out while maintaining my AF status.

I hope everyone is ok. East, I am sorry your kids are being typical kids and not helping you out. Maybe a little tough love is in order and you need to set some new rules so they understand you need some help and this is serious.

Had a brilliant weekend and have come home feeling refreshed and pleased that I am so upbeat at the moment

Have a question for all you UK Crackers WHO HAS NICKED OUR GOOD WEATHER????? If it carries on like this I shall have my thermals back on:H or wear a wet suit!!!!!! Shelby send us some of that lovely weather you are having or I will have to but a plane ticket and come and visit you - have you got room to house all the UK crackers in one go lol xx Our grass has never looked so green in July before and I must say the weeds think they are in heaven they are flourishing so well - must sort them out but I am dreadful at gardening - I will probably pull out all the flowers and leave a beautiful display of weeds - well they are colorful :H

Teardrop I hope your son had a brilliant time at the prom - Oh happy days memories like that stay with you forever - the feeling of pride watching them walk out the door - lump in the throat, tear in the eye ohhhhhhhhh I shall be reaching for a hanky soon BUT these wonderful days watching your kids spread their wings with such confidence makes it all worth while. I am sure the suit will appear back in one piece. If you don't manage to get away this year make sure you plan NOT to do any work in the house and try and get out each day. A couple of years back we could not afford to go away and decided to look around the local area. I searched the local library and found all the places we could visit that didn't charge entrance fees or were not expensive and we took picnics with us. WE had a really good time and I was amazed at what I hadn't been to see because it was on the door step ( It was also a useful exercise for where to take visitors when they come to stay)

Mad Mummy Sooooooooooooo hope you are feeling better today - I agree it doesn't matter what age your kids are they are still your precious babies - hope your daughter is also on the mend xx

Shelby - Time to relax now you have got the house back to yourself - company is always great but getting your own family space back is also a tremendous feeling. We have been thinking of getting a Wii - how realistic is the bowling? - We thought it might be a good way of exercising with a fun element involved. Anything that helps us get fitter is a good thing. I go to the local sports center a couple of time a week now so I have made a start at trying to get fitter BUT as our TESCO advert says every little helps!!!!

East so sorry about your thoughtless kids - they really don't know how lucky they are to have such a fantastic mum. One day rest assured when they are faced with the same treatment from their kids they will feel really really guilty that they didn't do more to help you. Know what you mean about getting the house into order before the op BUT you will feel better knowing it is all done and it keeps your mind off thinking too much. I am thinking of you and don't worry too much xxx:l

Sweetpea, Good to hear you are feeling well!!!! I am happy for you!! To answer your question regarding the Wii Bowling, it is so realistic! The only thing that is missing is the weight of the ball. Your approach, and release is all the same. You get the same spin, curve and reaction with the ball as you do in real bowling, too. It is amazing. We have a blast when we play. Now, I need to get busy with the Wii Fit that my husband bought for me. I forget about it!!!!! Shame on me!!!
Boy, I have been away from MWO all weekend. I am worried about Evie. I saw the thread her husband started before I got busy, and I saw a couple posts at the end from her saying she was depressed. I didn't read all the middle. Is she ok? What was the outcome of her hospital visit? I think I will PM her and see how she is doing.

Sweetpea...im glad you are feeling up beat. and it good to know you go to your local sport centre, i think it does help a lot.
East...im sorry about your kids not helping out. it funny how kids think we are strong and just keep goin on and on. i think we do everything for them without realizing it sometimes. maybe when you do have your op they might think different...i hope so.:l
Shelby.... I'm doing fine thank you, my daughter has a wii, can get very addited thou. I didn't know evie was feeling depressed. i knew her hubby inform us of her going into hospital. i'm not sure what the out come as well. i hope she is ok. if you do find out let me know. thanks.

Son enjoy his prom on thursday he did come back with the suit nothing missing. He come back at 2 in the afternoon had a shower and went back out again never got to see him in the evening time. I have downloaded some pictures on the booze buster thread week 7/7 do take a look .i will detele them at the end of the week.

Good Monday all, Sorry to hear about the bad weather in the UK, it has been pretty pleasant here however can be unpredictable.

East, "Strong like an Ox," My husband always says "Strong like Bull." Thats right, we are.

Shelby, I'll have to hear that REO Speedwagon song. Hey, the wii sounds really fun. I'm interested in the Yoga one.

Ok, Some comments on Codependent no More. There is a chapter intitled "Codependent Characteristics." The following catagories and items I checked are just a small list of them.

Caretaking:
Feel anxiety pity and guilt when people have a problem.

Feel compelled-almost forced to help that person solve the problems such as
offering unwanted advise, giving rapid fire series of suggestions, or fixing feelings.

Anticipate other peoples needs.

Low self worth
Feel different from the rest of the world.

Expect themselves to do everything perfectly.

Have alot of "shoulds."

Feel alot of quilt.

Obsession
Feel terribly anxious about problems and people.

Worry about the silliest thing.

Lose sleep over problems or other peoples behavior.

Controlling
Have lived through events and with people that were out of control, causing the codependents sorrow or disappointment.

Denial
Get depressed or sick

Overeat

Wonder why they feel like they are going crazy.

Dependency
Did'nt feel love and approval from their parents.

Progressive
Become addicted to alcohol and other drugs.

I seriously though all women felt this way. After I finished the chapter on detachment I read the chapter on anger. My therapist and I have alot to talk about this Friday. Hope this helps any of you who have been feeling any of this.

Happy Tuesday to everyone. I work early today. Just a quick post to say I am doing well, still AF today. Step-son here for 4 weeks and will go to CA with us to see my daughter. Going well so far. Always a slight adjustment.

Shelby I think lots of folks are on holiday at the moment. Also East is getting jobs done ready for going into hospital. Well done on being AF. I am moderating really well but want to get some more AF time in so am getting prepared and buying in some AF wine

Kat can so relate to those feelings at some point or another - trouble is when you are going through those feelings you forget just how many other people have been there before

Now fully into the downhill run to the summer holidays, at least one thing on the calendar for every day between now and two weeks on Friday when we go away.

Kat...thanks for your post i can relate to those feeling as well. It sounds like you have a good therapist.
Shelby....well done on your af days.
Mad mummy.... How was it last night listening to the boys singing was it good.
sweetpea...Those day trips....i just hope the weather starts picking up or there be no day trips for me.
East... it funny i did felt a bit tearful when he first try the suit on in the shop. I'm sorry to hear that your youngest one is playing you up they always seem to time it right at the right time..

Today on the radio they was saying we are going to get a month worth of rain to day.:upset: i dont know about anyone else but this recession seems to be having an effect on me this time round... my brother normally finds work pretty easy but there is no work for the last 4weeks. His in the building game and when there is a recession it hits the brick layers first then the electrical workers and so on. Plus we got the olympic as well.
sorry to go on it just that i'm worrying thats all need to tighten my belt.

Singing thing last night was awesome. Made me cry when they sang one song about children always suffering in wars but still singing...... Brilliant.

Teardrop you're "little" boy looks so handsome and grownup, it all comes around so fast doesn't it.

At least one good thing about the weather today is that Sports Day tomorrow has been cancelled - my daughter is so relieved (she keeps falling over the hurdles and was dreading doing it in front of an audience). Silver linings and all that:H

I am with your daughter about having sports day canceled - it was alway my worst nightmare = sporty I am not - couldn't even win the egg and spoon race:H Now I am a lot older I do do some sporty things because I don't care if I won or lose it is taking part and exercising that counts for me now

Teardrop - yep no post yesterday but I find it amazing when mine just disappears as well - are there gremlins out there eating our mail Hmmmmmmmm must find the buggers and shoot them. Hope things pick up for your brother real soon because I know how much effort you put into his welfare and how much you care xx

Good Morning Crackers! I am sorry you are all having such ugly weather. We had a glorious day yesterday. My husband and step-son went to the pool and I went with them just to lounge in the warm sun like a cat. For some reason I have been feeling wicked tired again. I wanted so badly to lose a little more weight before going to California, but can't seem to find the energy or motivation to exercise. I guess I am frustrated that the weight just didn't FALL off me like it did for RJ with the Topomax. I suspect that is what is contributing to me feeling so tired. I may be shooting myself in the foot with the Topo. If I can be successful with the other supplements, and stop the topo, then I may have more energy to accomplish the exercise, etc. Is anyone else taking topo? Had any of the same issues? I just feel frustrated today, when I should be feeling happy and excited about my upcoming vacation.
Sorry I spent the whole post on myself. Just "thinking out loud"........LOL. I must end now, so I have time to work out!!!!!!! Stay dry, be well. Have a great day everyone!!!!
