Hi Firecrackers!!

Had Bunco last night - a dice game. Lots of fun but I never do well with AL there!! Really have to break that association!!!! This month I have had 18 days AF and 4 days not - o of which mod and the rest not :upset: I would really like to have another go at 30 days! I honestly feel so much better when I am not drinking. At least for the first time I am truly acknowledging that!! Progress, perhaps!!

Tear drop - have your walking shoes on? It is supposed to be a beautiful crisp fall day here! Hang in there! Thinking of you lots!!!

Wet and miserable here but getting lots done inside. Have lost 5.5lbs so far and hope to loose another 8.5 by xmas. I find its helping me keep away from Al too so there is double benefit. Have not managed the 30 days this month either Evergreen although have been 99% AF, the odd glass of wine here or there. I'm just taking it ODAT and trying, trying to be mainly AF. Keeping a record and comparing where you were last year does help. Last October I managed 10 days this year it will be 20+ closer to 30.

Hope everyone else is doing well, good luck to those starting out, let us know how you are doing.

Feels like am back on track and feeling good so far. I have done 4days af 5thday thought i did 2 but i miss a day somewhere thought yesterday was wednesday not very good because agency rang up, i had not gone to my cleint.... i wil get my shopping out the way very early today so i have not got to go in the evening time and be tempted at the witching hour. witching hour seems to be getting early for me ro anytime.

Patricia... i believe this place does help a lot and an wrok as well.

Maasai...thats wonderful that your meeting someone from mwo...let us know all about it. when i first meet mwo poeple i was so scared, but it and a wonderful experience the people were the best you could have ever have meet.

Evergreen... know what you mean feeling so much better without the AL, i love seeing the progress of my body and mind healing each day.

Rustop61...well done on your weight loss wow you are doing so well.

Guitarista... I love your attitude. i dont think i have ever try to mod. Anyway your always welcome here and i will be watching also with interest as well. stay strong.

Went to hospital yesterday to get my histology and follow up.Was dreading it but not too bad, Had to laugh at Mr East though, Doc had to give me an internal behind closed curtains and when finished said "Its now safe for you to have sexual intercourse" Hubby thought that was an instruction!!! MEN!!!!
Doc said nothing sinister but the fibroid/tumour removed was the size of football!
Thanks for asking about daughter Evergreen, At this moment she is in bed with a hangover and should be at work! I am worried about her this is not the first relationship she has had that ended badly, the last abusive one, at aged 16 ended at the abortion clinic. She is coping as I have done in the past, her friend Jack Daniels comforted her last night.
Back on day 2 today,( had wine the night before hospital appointment.)
Teardrop you are doing great:l,as long as you keep out of the kitchen :H
Good to see some old names returning and how they are doing too.
Rustop I am with you, I need to lose some more weight without a knife (now I am surgically Menopausal), AL really does = weight gain.

Hi everybody,

Day 2 for me. Hope everybody is well. Evergreen, day 1 went okay - but sometimes it just does, doesn't it? I did all the exercise I set myself and so far today is okay. I'd really like to do at least 30 days - want to lose a few pounds and I know that when I drink I'm slightly bloated which does not make me feel good. The weather here today is absolutely gorgeous and I'm about to go for a half an hour brisk walk which I hope will get the endorphins kicking in. Wouldn't it be nice for those of us who want to do the 30 days before Christmas to do it? Have a lovely day all.

Great to see all the new and old faces. Glad you got hospital visit over East, the thought is usually worse than the actual event. All you can do for your daughter is be there, unfortunately we cant live their lives for them, they have to make their own mistakes.

Patricia, we will get 30 days or more in before Christmas. They may not be all together but we will do it. Just concentrate on getting through one day at a time. Feeling very positive at the moment, have had lots of AF time in October and am loosing weight. Went to Yoga yesterday. Cannot remember the exact name but it is more a keep fit type and boy am I feeling it today. Still all good for me so I'll keep going, at least up to xmas.

Have not posted in awhile. Busy weekend!!! Homecoming for the youngest and Halloween parties.

Eastender - I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and while the initial recovery was a little tough, it has been the best thing I have done. No longer chronically anemic. Feel much better. There is a great website that has LOTS of info and support - hystersisters.com. No kidding!!

Patricia - how are things going. How was the weekend!! I am with Rustop!! Keep your focus on ODAT. I am with you on the 30 days before Christmas. I am going to make another concentrated go at it starting Nov. 1st. Want to join me?

Hi All Firecrackers,

Evergreen im not doing to bad do get those odd couple of hours and pull my self out of it.
I made sure this year i got a pumpkin early this year after last year so wrap up in myself i had to search high and low for a pumpkin because i left it to late in the end forgot about the farm shop round the corner.
Really felt embarass yesterday round my inlaws for dinner they always have wine and brandy on the table no one really drinks it, only me so straight away i pour myself a can of coke and pour one for my daughter but before i did i said do you want some wine not realize what i said until everyone started laughting at me i felt like i was in some kind of trance and woke up.
Anyway thought the clocks were going back this weekend good job my hubsand got his head screw on.....Went for a bike ride early today to clear my head (before it gets dark)
not only did it clear my head but it felt like my head was frozen. lol well that should stop me from thinking for a couple of hours. Took a drive down the country lanes to take a picture of this tree, this tree from the side looks like it got a face it was my daughter that pointed it out to me. so took some more pictures of the country side really nice ones as well felt quite proud of myself. It funny today forgot to take my supp's but my brain soon reminded me....
Hope i not bored you all to tears!

Hi All, Crashed and burned last Weds night but had six days but it went into Thursday. 4 days AF again and been to AA which helps as to the type of drinker I am. Hurting a lot from the split with my boyfriend and feel that I contributed greatly to it because I kept picking up that vino for stress release. I seem unable to do life these days and feel pretty miserable and sorry for myself. Early night to-night without a drink and not craving which is good. So many on the site but good wishes to the lady who has just had the operation - take great care of yourself - but lucky you - no more of that monthly stuff.

What a hectic week-end!!! Daughter had her 16th birthday party at home. About 40 at it so have to admit was a bit worried but everything went fine and a good night was had by all. However, spent the days before it preparing (all lamps, photos and anything I did not want touched had to be taken out to the garage), we then decorated for halloween. They did not make too much of a mess but everything had to be put back again so that's kept me busy. Did have a few glasses of wine one or two of the nights so will be getting back on the train for November.

It's hard to believe that its nearly a year since this thread started, where does the time go?? Lots of ups and downs but lots of AF time as well and that's the main thing. Will check back later and catch up on all the posts. Have a great week everyone.
