Rustop Hope the arrangements for the party are going smoothly and that you have a lovely time. Builders decorating and carpets being laid at the moment, my house upside down but booked holiday for June. Taking away my Mum and Dad, they were so good to me when I was recouperating after operation wanted to treat them.

Well done East, once you start getting some AF days under your belt it does get easier. I bet you cant wait to see the back of the builders/decorators. Enjoy your lovely home and I envy you having a holiday to look forward to. 2008 wasnt an easy year for you, hope 2009 is better.

Thanks for your warm welcome back. A note to my Brit friends. My daughter has applied for the master's program at the University of Manchester. She is anxiously awaiting the decision whether she was accepted or not. Send positive thoughts to the admissions board! She really, really wants this. One of her classmates got accepted. My daughter is a little nervous at this point, because this girl applied after my daughter did and didn't even know the university existed until my daughter told her. My daughter did all the research on the master's program and found it, so she will be upset if she is not accepted, and this girl is. I am so anxious for her! Every time my phone rings, I get a lump in my throatt and a knot in my stomach........waiting..... Is it good news or bad?
If she is accepted, she wants me to accompany her to England this summer to check out the university and the area before committing to the move. It would be fabulous to meet you! I don't know how close to Manchester any of you are, or if it would even be feasable to make it happen. I will keep you all posted.
Successfully made it through day #4. I haven't even been remembering to take the supps. Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Everyone

Back from my travels and feeling mentally more refreshed but still suffering with this viral thing. I am going back to the doctors this week to see what he has to say because I have had it long enough and feel very drained and low. I had got my fitness levels to a really good state before I got this whatever and now will have to start all over again. Trouble is the inclination is not there and I will really have to push myself. Been taking a tonic to improve my general state of wellbeing the only thing is it makes me want to eat more Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm not a good thing either!!!!!!!! Still I would rather have a bit of extra weight than not feel like getting off my rear end and doing things. Trouble is it has a roller coaster effect - If you feel low mentally you don't feel like doing anything and everything is an effort and if you feel low due to a viral infection you haven't got the energy to do anything and it is difficult to motivate yourself BUT the good news is - I have not let al get to me which has been a super human effort - still not af all the time but moderating well

Welcome back Sweetpea. Hope you are soon feeling better. Get yourself checked out. Are you taking the Allone and supplements from this site? They might help. Al has abused all of our bodies. As we get older we need to start taking better care of them. I still have not gotten back the results of the bloods I had done but my white cells might be down because of spleen/liver not functioning as good as it should. Great incentive to stay away from Al!

Did have some champagne at hubby's 50th but because I was so busy looking after everyone else did not have time to drink after the toast. Back AF again the next day and plan to stay that way for the rest of the month. The party went very well but I was exhausted. I did all the food, turkey, ham, salmon and loads of salads. A lot of work went into getting everything prepared. However, it was a good night and I think he enjoyed it.

Glad to hear Teardrop is ok. If you are reading this Tear, big hugs and take care of yourself. Shelby, East, Fjones and everyone else big hello.

Glad to see you back Sweetpea, I know what you mean about these viruses, mine took good six -seven weeks and I still have a colourful coldsore to show for it! Wish you better well done on the modding.(wish I could say the same)
Rustop, Sounds like your "do" went smoothly, I am glad, it sounds like you put a lot of work into it. Food sounds lovely! I wish you well with the blood results.
Shelby Hope those worrying papers came through for your daughter Our post is awful internally, so abroad GEESH I dread to think!
I have the builders still feel like they live here now. My drinking has been eratic had two bad days thispast week. However started a menopause natural remedy called menopace advanced, has numerous supps and herbs. only been 5 days but feeling better mentally today. On day 2 today AGAIN!!! Hope that this is MY answer.
Glad that Teardrop is OK have been worried about her. If you are reading tear:hello2:
and thinking of you. Take care and enjoy your time out. We all need that sometimes.:l

:welcome:Greenhouse1, hop on board. Sweetpea started this thread over a year ago and lots of us did the 30 days and in some cases much, much more. We are still notching up AF days and continue to post on the Sweetpea express. Are you just starting? If so good luck.

Hope you are soon feeling better Sweetpea. It is such a dismal time of year, I'm sure that does not help much either. East, I dont know how you keep going with those builders. Hope all works out for your daughter Shelby.

Rustop hope the meals on wheels delivery went well today. I have thought about doing that myself but thought you had to commit a lot of time. How do you go about offering your services. Thanks for your kind thoughts. I have seen the doc and he is changing my medication and getting some tests done so hopefully I shall soon be feeling a lot better

East did you make it to day 3:l I have a busy weekend but am determined to get going on some af time next week and see if I can achieve another 30 days

Good to see you back Sweetpea and you sound a lot more like your old self. Something someone said on one of the other threads really struck me yesterday. She said she was striving for progress not perfection. I think that has been my problem. I wanted perfection. Completely AF and when I did slip I constantly bet myself up over it. Since joining MWO I have made so much progress and want to progress even further. That's my aim for 09. I have a personal goal every month to achieve more AF time than I did last year.

Where is everyone? Anyway if you are reading hope everyone is doing ok. Did have wine at the week-end but am aiming to make the last week of January AF. I think lent starts in February so that is a good excuse to try and get in a long spell AF. I feel so, so much better when I am not drinking I dont know why I keep going back to it.

Got the results of my bloods back and my white cell count had increased so it could have just been a virus. Both my daughter and hubby had one but I thought I had only a bit of a cold. However my googling frightened me. Drinking a bottle of wine at a time is not doing my body any good and with the liver it can be cumulative. Got the weight and health checks out of the way last year so 09 is the time to fight Al with a vengence!!!

Have only had time to read and will post quickly, builders are still here decorating finished on 2nd and almost 1st floor My bedroom! will be ground floor soon.
I have had an awful week did make the third day but on 4th son and daughter had scrap, eldest daughter told me youngest back with ex and had been lying to me about where she had been staying these past 4 weeks!
Yes you are with me, 4th day disaster!!!! The following day my face swoll up for no reason whilst eating lunch. Getting to see a doctor in A & E was almost like seeing the queen, gave up and waited for GP appointment. Today my doc told me he beleives I may have a stone in my salava gland! So back to hospital for me to have tests and maybe operation. Isn't getting older great?, still beats the alternative I guess!
Sorry that I have not been around to support you all as much as I would like to, I try to keep up to date reading when I can.
Rustop so glad that your bloods OK, not that you had a virus though, they can be quite nasty lately .

It is back to the docs for me tomorrow for some tests as I have been poorly for so long now. Hope they give me a good tonic to boost me up. This winter has been bad for so many of us with so many things flying around. I am looking forward to the better weather and feeling like I have got some energy

Rustop sorry I have not been around much but I just seem to lack the energy and inclination to do very much at the moment. Hope your af week is going well. So pleased your results came back ok

East sorry to hear that you are having a bad time of it. I hope the tests do not result in another operation for you:l. I had hoped to start a af week but like you I don't seem to manage to string more than a couple of days together. I am moderating well when I do have a drink but I really would like to do another 30 days

Sweetpea, East hope all goes well for you at the Doctors. We seem to be at that age when things start to go wrong. My googling regarding the white blood cells and what alcohol can do to your system has been a bit of a wake up call for me. I knew it already but there is nothing like having something actually wrong that brings it all home to you. AF last night and hoping to get a few more days in for January and then start off again in February.

Hi Everyone,
3rd AF day today have been taking antibiotics so I guess that its cheating a bit. Feel so terribly tired. I have started course of "menopace" alternative medicine, mainly herb minerals and vitamins in a bid to support my immune system and take away some of the negativity I seem to feel lately. (one of the the things not helping with trying to stay AF.)
I am with you Rustop trying to get as many days AF, whether they be strung together or not. I was horrified at the recycling box this week.
Have some friends that may be visiting this weekend the wife has alzheimers and the husband recently diagnosed with cancer. Why do I feel so hard done by? I CHOOSE to slowly kill myself! If only I could make sense of my compulsion, I am sure I would be halfway there.
Hope your doc appointment went well Sweetpea :l I was thinking that I might try for 30 days in February,(even though there are 28, but maybe that might bring more incentive!:H) what do you and everyone else think? Up for it? I just have to commit soon the months are flying by so quickly!
Rustop, googling any medical problems and proceedures frightens the hell out of me, I ended up one day on a medical site watching a film ( I thought) of an operation , it was infact a godiva, and was a site for medical students! I could not close my eyes for days !
You are right, it is time to take care of ourselves better.
My doctor said that our bodies are like sinks, when young and new we can bung anything down it. After some time and abuse, the sink starts to block, we cannot see the problem until it fails to empty as well , or as quick, when we continue without action, it blocks completely. Strange analology I know but works for me!
