Count me in for 30 days AF starting January (I am actually hoping today will be my start, but I am going out of town to vist my sister for New Year's, and of course I'm a drunk so I am trying not to make myself any empty promises I know I will not keep.

Still on the treadmill, had a bloody mary early this morning and didn't stop. Spent most of the day in bed, sleeping. Didn't drink that much, just slept. But didn't do things I had planned to do. Filing. Preparing for an af January.

Guess the holidays are harder to get through than I thought.

Going to church tomorrow to pray for someone on this site who needs our prayers and good thoughts. Father Mahoney will be shocked that I showed up at church at 7:30 am!!!

But, please, Fireworkers, send your prayers and good wishes to B. This site has done so much for me, I'm hoping that we can do the same for her.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry but not read any post yet got to go to work soon. I did have a bad weekend. went to a party on saturday next door, my hubby lift early to go out with his friends, Thought i was doing ok until i ended up in the kitchen drinking whisky then got home and carried on drinking. iwill not drink today feeling fed-up of drinking. I will be going to xmas mass tonight, Also get some flowers and visit my brother grave. Must not forget my mum and dad to.

We are at our worst at the moment but we are still fighting, I too have lost some battles and drunk the fridge dry!(But I will NOT give up the war!)

Hi, its 3 am and I can't sleep. Not for any reason, just woke up.
( Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I fell asleep at 7:30 pm! ) Anyway, I've had enough time and quiet to read this long thread and was hoping I could join in at this point. Looks like everyone is getting themselves ready for an AF January. I'm there. You all share concern, support and love for each other, I'm jealous. I need a thread like this where I can come and check in everyday.

I'm not proud of myself for yesterday. With the exception of going to my favorite farm stand with my favorite friend, I stayed in bed the entire day, getting up only to make yet another drink, I lost an entire day.

East, you are so right,, xmas is such an emotionally charged time. I hate this time of year. Can't wait for it to be over.

Teardrop, will be bringing flowers to my parents and grandparents graves today. Will say a prayer for your brother and your parents. They are all up there together, probably having a better time then I am right now!!!!

Sweetpea, I can't thank you enough for assembling this fantastic group of friends, I wish I could be celebrating Xmas with the Firecrackers and not the dysfunctional family and drunk friends that I'll be with.

But at least I know that I can leave early, and nobody will know that I have left.

To all of the Firecrackers, thank you for your support, friendship and the best Christmas I have had.

Sweetpea. Building works on hold at the moment, Have a large skip outside which looks awful but I tied some tinsel on the corners! I have some searching for Tiles and paint colours to do before new Year when the builders cometh for round 2!

Really disappointed in myself. Spent two days in bed, getting up only to make another drink. Didn't go up to my best friend's house for Xmas eve. First time in over 20 years. My thinking was that I didn't want to be around a lot of people drinking. So what did I do, stay home and drink. At least I have one of the four days left....too bad xmas will be my filing day.

have to start AF now, can't trust myself mod.

FinallyRN, so glad you found the Firecrackers! Sweetpea, our :yougo: has collected an amazing group of incredible friends. Can't get through the day without them.
