FIREWORKS - ANYONE WANT TO JOIN ME FOR 30 DAYS AF

Morning Firecracker, sorry haven't been around, have missed you all so much.

Over Xmas, didn't return any phone calls, HATE the holidays, since I'm alone, and they just seem to be getting worse. Wednesday night, got home from work and 5 minutes later, the door bell rang. It was my sister and her husband and kids. The drove 3 hours for an intervention because I didn't answer their phone calls and they were afraid I would hurt myself, said that they were taking me to nearest hospital for an outpatient psych evaluation and to be admitted for a month's detox and psych help.

Her speech to the dr deserved an academy award, said that on our mother's death bed, she promised to rake care of me. Blah, blah, blah. This was the woman who hasn't been down to help me in the two years since my mother died. This is the woman who right after my mother died said she wanted to divide her jewelry. I, as executrix and older daughter said no, it was too early. She threw all the jewelry on my mother's bed, took what she wanted and said that we were going to get the jewelry appraised. We went to the jeweler's, he looked at my pile and said that it was not worth appraising. Looked at her pile and said Wow!. You have some very nice pieces.

On the ride back to my mother's house, she said...you hate me. I said no, she repeated it, I said no, just disappointed in you for not listening to me, it is too early. Later we found a note written by my mother listing what she wanted us yo have. Funny, my sister took much of what my mother wanted me to have.

This is also the woman who when asked to stop in to see my mom the last few years of her life on her family way down or back to my mom's beach house, she said that it would be too hard.

Her timing is so suspicious, the estate is about to settle if I'm in a hospital......

I told the dr. bout my way out, he laughed. Set he'd set me up with AA.

Needless to say I left. The next day, I had an appointment set up with a new therapist. I told her about the last several years, told her about my sister and she asked me if I was mad. Said no, just shocked. She said that"this was the woman who didn't help for the last two years?" Yes, I said, I am mad.

Support is so important, I feel that the Firecrackers are more supportive than my own sister.

Haven't had time to read the posts over the last couple of days, but wil, because I'd rather be back with friends than spend the day being angry with my sister.

So, I'm back, and haven't a drink in several days. Happy and healthy New Year to all!

:h Suki been so worried that we had not heard from you. I am trying to get my head round that family of yours. I am so far away that I don't want to say the wrong thing but still be supportive to you. I totally agree that it all seems to be a bit suspect. Can you get in touch with your friend that has been so supportive and see what she thinks. Someone a bit closer may be able to be a good sounding block and suggest things to help. REALLY WISH I COULD HELP MORE XXXXXXX

There is absolutely no reason why you couldn't do both MWO and AA together. The combination may help - I have no idea because I have never done AA. The only thing I do know that support from wherever it comes from and in whatever form is WHAT WE NEED - WHAT WE ALL NEED SO DON'T FEEL YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN

I am so sooooo pleased that you have not had a drink for a few days - KEEP AT IT XXX

Just promise me to contact your very good friend and keep posting or else I will have to buy a ticket to come and see you :h xx Anyway have a Happy New Year and KEEP POSTING

Sweetpea and East, can't tell you how comforting it is to be back posting here. Hope your holidays were fabulous.

Have spoken to a lot of people over the last couple of days, some who know my sister, some who do not. Have a new therapist who is incredible, Told them of things she had said and done after mom died, questions that I had asked her to ask her husband who was managing my mom's money which she never did. They all have said that she has a lot of unresolved anger towards me.

Went up to my friend's house tonight for Chinese food, (a tradition), back home before 9 pm (another tradition). (Yes, we spoke about my sister Sweetpea, she thinks my sister is nuts.)

Going for a long walk early tomorrow morning with a cousin. Hopefully a new tradition.

Still AF. Looking forward to putting all of this in the past, and having a happy, healthy, stressfree New Year.

Would Like to try 30 Days

I sure would like to try 30 days AF. That would be something. I usually break down after 5-7 days and try to have just 1-2 drinks. Which become 5-10 drinks.

Well, we will see how it goes. Better than not trying at all, I imagine.
