Day 19 AF

Hi firecrackers,

This is my second attempt to post, keep losing my connection.
House is lovely and quiet today apart from telephone calls.
Had a quick readup to catch up on the news.
Not had much sleep the past few nights daughter on self destruct mode, coming in at 3.30-4 am each night(despite being asked to be in by 1!)

Sweetpea.Glad to hear that you are on the mend and its a comfort to me to see your posts
Can only manage a shower( bath and candles out for me!)
Warmer climates ah!!!! Mr East suggested a week maybe when work finished.
Guess what? Passports almost expired had to renew:upset:

Teardrop Congratulations on your 11 days AF.
I fully understand the crying thing, both AF periods have seen me cry all day Why? I put it down to all that pent up emotion finally bubbling to the surface. Happiness and sadness are two sides of the same coin you can't have one without the other.

Suki. Sorry that you are having a bad time recently. Your sister is not perfect she makes herself feel better by picking at your scabs. Do as Sweet says turn off your phone, play the game on home ground speak to her only when YOU want. That way you chose your mood. For this I wish you strength.
Just for your own sanity get around to changing your avator like you wanted to, everytime I see it now I can feel your frustration jumping out at me with you running around in that box!
That decluttering that you had in mind for the weekend will do you the power of good, always helps me.
We have not yet received the van and the builders pole is currenty redundant, but keeping it to hand:H

Erin Well done on your "open bar night", I think if we make the decision early as you did (turning the glass upside down) we can deal so much easier with it and goes completely unnoticed by everyone else!

Thanks for asking after me. Daughters problems are a bit painful at the moment, with me the punchbag, but staying AF has helped me to cope. Also in the wee dark hours I do ask for spiritual guidance rather than reach for the bottle. Not as instant but a much kinder crutch!

Fby. Loved your poem, having trouble with the last verse "Too large for worry,to noble for anger........."just at this moment in time, working on it though.
10 years WOW that was some achievement , you should be proud of yourself.
I have also missed your words my winged amigo, I too rely on all you firecrackers for my strength to fight, and our army is sure determined.

Eastender I am always comforted when I have heard from you. You have been such a great support to me. Glad things are a little quieter. I think Mr East has a good idea about a week away Q - T (quality time) for you both. So much has been going on and you have had such a bad time of it with builders - family problems etc. A week away to recharge your batteries and have time for you each other - Something that sometimes gets pushed to the background when so much other stuff is going on. When push comes to shove it is you and Mr East that are important because the kids will move on in their lives sooner or later and it will be just the two of you - SO GET THOSE PASSPORTS RENEWED BUY THE SUN LOTION AND GOOOOO - can't wait to hear that you are booked to go and have something to look forward to that does not involve stress :yay:

Morning - I am boarding the train YAY

Just to say morning all and hope everyone is doing well and you all had a really good weekend

I am doing just fine at the moment. I have moderated really well and now plan to get on the train today for some AF time. So I have packed my case full of supplements and vitamins, have my DVDs to hand because I am ready to roll. So it is day 1 for me again but I am in an upbeat positive frame of mind and determined to have some AF time. I am going to set myself weekly targets to start with so I don't put myself under too much pressure ODAT/OWAT and see how I go:happy:

Hi Firecrackers

Great to have the computer back. With two teenagers in the house, I dont get a look in at week-ends. Had a nice relaxing week-end and got to go on a walk both days which does not always happen. I normally do the whole Sunday dinner thing but yesterday I went for a walk instead and we had take-away. Sometimes we put ourselves under too much pressure and feel selfish doing things just for ourselves. I'm getting better at it.

MIL still causing major problems. Hubby not too pleased that I am taking such a back seat but its his mother and his siblings so I feel he has to be the one to deal with it. I have already been through the whole aged parent/nursing home scenario and did it on my own. There are 7 in his family. A few years ago I would not have been assertive enough but now I am. One advantage of getting older I guess.

Oh Yeah!!! You are just what I needed this morning. :l As you see, I have been around for awhile. Was a frequent poster some time ago and did a 17 day stint AF in November. Since then I have had alot of false starts and slips. The harder I try to regroup it seems the farther I fall!!!!! I have been lurking again but found it hard to post!! I AM READY TO DO SOME BATTLE!!!!! Let's do it together!! Monday January 21st - Day 1!!!

Others - we have lots in common. I am 45 - turn 46 in March! (Would love to be AF for that celebration.) I have 3 girls (19, 17 and 13). They are wonderful but can definitely push my buttons in a way that their father cannot comprehend. The thing to remember in the teen years is that they need a mother - we have lots of years to be their friends - right now they need a mother.

Evergreen FANTASTIC great to see you back. As you can see I am keeping close to the boards today as day 1 can be very difficult. The answer to your question is YES YES YES without a doubt the sups have certainly helped me. l-glut and kudzu in particular. I am not on any other drugs but have the DVD and RJ's book. I will read again and listen to the DVDs again to give me that extra help. They certainly helped with my last 30 days so I am certain that they will help me do it again. It might just just be positive attitude and the belief that they are working, but whatever, if I am doing it then thats what counts :yay: Evergreen lets go for it WE CAN DO IT

Know what you mean about the kids they can certainly make you want to ull but you are so right us mums have got to stick together and be mums while they need us. Friendship can wait

Rustop you are doing right regarding MIL. As you say hubby has 7 siblings let them take the pressure off you because if you do all the work they will just sit back and let you. Assertiveness does come with age I agree, but also having had such a lot of AF time under your belt you now realise that being good to yourself is worth it and you are worth it. So let them get on with it

Thank you Sweetpea for being our :yougo: and tour director. It is so wonderful to know that you are feeling better and posting your fabulous, supportive posts!

I took your advice and East's and changed my avatar. You both were right, not positive, to be honest, it drove me nuts! The new one is Knut, the polar bear at the Berlin zoo.

Have gotten so much done since Friday, once trash goes out tomorrow night the place will look so much better. Then the filing can begin.

Rustop, going to follow what you did this weekend, walk and treat myself to a lunch out. You are so right about putting so much pressure on ourselves.
