Hi all Firecrackers..
Did my nearly 30 days af in november, but ended up giving up on day 25 and been drinking since, nearly daily. So back in the rut i'm afraid and haven't had the courage to return here til today.
I do know it's not the right thing for me to do to carry on with the drink, but just now i'm unable to give it up. However, i have my birthday on the 16th of feb and have a load of friends coming over for a wild weekend. And after that i'm going to start odat but hopefully for a longer period. I'm just sick and tired of not being able to complete all the work that needs doing at home due to feeling too tired from the drink last night.
So, anyone else up for a break on the 18th of feb? It's my 7th anniversary for stopping smoking and seems like a good day to start from fresh regarding drinking too..

I do hope everyone's doing well and feeling good. I'll have to catch up and read all the posts since i left the site..

Good morning to all you firecrackers!!!

Saturday night went to a restarant had only a glass of wine. (was driving) BUT the good think is normally i would have 1or2 bottles of wine waiting for me in the fridge for when i get home..... to make up for lost drinking time.......(Funny how the mind works) instead went straight to bed.....woke up sunday and monday morning with my head scew on.(felt Good)
The best think is got my bike out of the shed on sunday and went for a bike ride. YES and that felt good TOO!!
Today i'm going to make myself go out for a little jog.

Eastender....my avatar is a real picture it not a trick. can't seem to find on the internet where this place is....could be the USA canada or australia. Glad you have found youself hang on to it. I felt i have found myself on sunday going for that bike ride.

Rustop.....I to read croft thread, it is so ture, a lesson that we can learn from. Funny I to was tinking about lent 6 feb. never ever given up anything for lent before maybe it time for me to give up drink for lent. wish me luck.

Suki...i love going to the movies...don't go much now.... my friend moved to cyprus, my other friend loves to go out clubbing and drinking. at least you just had two drinks and not finish the bottle of.

I found a nice drink to drink that i got in tesco the other day called lightly sparkling crush mexican key lime. taste really nice and refeshing. I just forgot to drink my tea have to make myself another cup.

Dust bunnies are breeding in my house with all the work going on.
I am a great believer that there is always a silver lining on all clouds.
Seems like when you were feeling down your friends come to the rescue!

As for your sis, I also have one that has been a pain in the past, Have not seen her in 5 years but parents keep me up to date. I do not wish her any harm but realise that to me she is toxic. Keep my distance.

Rustop61. Well done on your 28 days today. I had a night out with friends on Saturday and drank then too, a little bit more than I intended, but continued AF yesterday and will today.
I have been reading Crofts post today and Ask for help struck a chord,We always restart the clock after a slip (instead of counting on from the next day) like the time AF was cancelled off somehow. So, feeling positive today my counter is now set at 28 (-2) for 2008!

Finski, Glad to hear from you , 25 days must be a magic number ,I slipped this month on that day too.
Staying close to MWO helps so much so stay close and try not to beat yourself up, you will get there. Will be glad to join you in February will be taking it ODAT myself.

Teardrop You are doing so well, It is SO hard but feeling clear in the head makes so much difference. I have a picture on my mantlepiece that my sister gave me. I was 7 and on a bike, I am soooooo happy, I look at it often, it takes me back to my innerchild,Riding a bike can be so exhilarating and take us to a carefree place.

East, thank you!

It's 7:00 am Boston time, should be out the door going to work. Still in bed. I completely screwed up yesterday. After talking to my sister and having her deny all the things that she has said and done over the last 3 years was a real eyeopener. So i drank. Haven't really done this in a long time. At least since I found MWO.

Like you, I've been trying to make everyone happy. No more. BUT, I had several drinks yesterday. That has to stop. My drinking yesterday was reactionary, due to her insensitivity.

She was going to rent a car, to save on the mileage on her new BMW, rent a hotel room, not stay with me. Asked if she REALLY had to come down.

My best friend is going with me. We do have a good case. AND, you will be sitting on my left shoulder.

After spending so much time taking care of beloved family members and to now put myself first, is difficult.

I am blessed to have the friends I have, especially you.

Your sister won,t use her car to save on mileage!?! Does she cover her furniture in Plastic as well? Crazy thinking.
If she stays with you Suki she may cause you more harm than good, she is one of your triggers, so think of it a a close call, You get space to talk to your pals on MWO instead of listening to her condemnation.

Suki, Don't give your sister that power. She doesn't deserve it. You do. No more time wasted on trying to fix things for all others,..... been there, done that. I'm 48 yrs old and it took my a long time to get here but its feels so good! Its MY time now and I don't give it away anymore. Did you ever see the movie "Network" with Peter Finch when he sticks his head out the window and yells..........."I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!"............make that your mantra against your sister. It'll empower you. And then look at her with pity and realize just how unhappy she is because she has to take it out on you.
