Erin great to hear from you. Have not had Antabuse so don't know how good it is BUT if it is working for you - Fantastic - I am always of the opinion if something works then keep with it especially if you are now sleeping well. Sleep is such a great healer for the body and soul. Yep we are heading straight for warmer climates so grab my hand and welcome aboard xx

Hi All

Went to my 1to 1 sesssion yesterday. found it very hard, very exhausting and tearful. but afterwards felt relief a bit.
Anyway i can rememeber when my sister was 18years she loved going out clubbing. she would alway go through a bottle and in to the second bottle with her friend. I always used to finish of the rest of the bottle. i was 14 then.
Anyway my dad never told her that there was a bus strike that night. well of course she come home really late my dad hit the roof and starting hiting her. Thats the way my dad sick mind worked any excuse so that he could find a way to beat us.

Teardrop yesterday was such a hard day for you but in time you should find these one to one sessions very beneficial to you. We bury so much inside ourselves that we find things very, very difficult to talk about. Happy Valentines Day. Got through visit to MIL ok, thank goodness there was no alcohol in the house or I would have been driven to it!! She's getting worse but because she has always played games, I dont know how much of it is genuine confusion and whats not. Anyway my sister-in-law is coming from the States on Saturday for two weeks and is going to try and talk to her. I dont envy her!! The girls are still off school so this is just a quick hello. East, stick with us, we are all getting their our own way. Suki, you are doing amazing. Sweetpea, you are there for us all constantly and cheer us along. Teardrop, Fby, everyone else big hello.

Thank you all so much for the words of support you have given me over the last couple of days it was heartwarming to read them. I have been reading the posts when I get the chance still manic at the house.

You are right about wanting to crawl away and be invisible, feeling bad about even thinking let alone drinking a glass of AL.
I do seem to have given myself a new paranoia!
On reading your post yesterday I decided to take your advice and try to fight this feeling.
An Artist friend of mine had invited me a week ago to come to a private veiwing of his work, I had already made up my mind that no way was I going to face all those people.
NOT ME AT ALL!:no:
So with warpaint on, travelcard in hand (gallery was across town) I took a very crowded tube for an hour and half. Scared but determined!
I reached the very crowded venue and was about to walk away when I could not see anyone familiar, when out of nowhere my friend smiling handed me a glass of wine saying ""thought you might need this!" He knows about my claustraphobia.
FORGOT THE DUCKTAPE!!!!ops!: I had not excuse BLACK is my colour always wear it!
Had only that one glass while I looked at the display for a while, Looking at the artwork brought out a feeling I thought I had long lost. Your words "Bury so much inside ourselves" came to mind. We are in the words of Shrek like onions MANY LAYERS. I think my layers are slowly being unravelled.
You know I am so pleased I got out the house to do something for ME, so thank you Sweetpea for your words of wisdom you helped me to do something positive yesterday.

Suki. What can I say? You have come on in leaps and bounds. Such a dramatic change in you, you should be soooo proud of your progress I know I am.

Teardrop Your brother is so lucky to have sisters that care for him the way you do.
I am glad that your session went well, those layers are starting to be peeled away and with onions comes tears, I have let lots of them out myself, but relieving in a strange way,as you said.
My daughter still causing problems wants a night in Hotel tonight with bf who she is not really steady with, I am not happy about it and refused to give my permission. Will have to wait and see whether she comes home after dinner like i asked!
I have no control over her if she doesn't want to respect me. Even so I would not hit her (though many a times I have felt like it)

Rustop. Being a pain seems to be a requirement for a MIL, mind games a pastime hobby!
I will try and stick with it like you say and thanks for your input.

5day AF for e feel like i'm on track for some reason.
Had to ring my hbby on his way home from work to tell him not to buy me no wine.
THATS the first time i'v not had a drink on valentines night for years.
THE good think is i can remember what went on last night and afterwards has a good night sleep. :bigwink:

East.. you have desribe the onion but so well. glad you made time for yourself, you should do it more often. wow looks like you got your work cut out for you east, with your daughter. my son is 15years always come to me when he want to do something because i'm the soft one i always say yes. maybe because i was nvever allowed to do anything when i was his age.

Hi all, I'm back. Its good to be home. I think I'm one of those that need structure in their lives. I was so looking forward to being alone but after the first week found myself thanking god for my husband and how predictable he is. Shower 09:00, shave 09:12, dressing 09:20, you get the picture. .......BORING! I feel comfort in routine now. Never use to be that way. I will be posting a thread with details later if anyones interested, but I did ok. I'm glad I went.
Just one more thing I want to say to Teardrop. Hang in there. I did therapy off and on for years. It took me awhile to have some real breakthroughs but it changed my life. The baggage follows you wherever you go. I use to argue with my therapist in the beginning, "Can we just focus in on me please? I'm having problems NOW, forget about what happened then." I went through a lot of pain but am much better and wiser for it.
Sweetpea..........you are awesome. Can i adopt you?
I have a lot of reading to catch up on. See yu soon
