morning all, just wrote a long post on Saturday's ODAT, my fingers are tired.

Today is Day 1 again for me, appropriate for December 1st. I am determined to go through December AF. Good reason not to go to holiday parties with people I don't like, who don't support me (my lovely, toxic co-workers).

COLD here today, have to move the cats off of me to get up to feed them. Who needs flannel sheets when you have cats/dogs.

God just read my last post meant to put driving instant of drinking so i did not drink y'day day3 AF (thats what drink has done to my brain cell i'm afraid.) at the jewellery party got myself a tiffany bracelet not the real mc coy but good quality. Its a bit late for me but cant seem to get on the pc during the day, so its hard to have my thinking cap on. Eastender i have a lot of faith in you love your quotes.

Hi Everyone,

Here goes my confession!

Went to the dinner repeating in my head that If I drink it MUST be moderation no more than two glasses. Plenty of water, Eat first..........

Everyone ordered up the wine Most are Red drinkers I agreed with Mr East to have Rose if anything at all. Would be easier to keep track of....

I ordered a large bottle of water which I drank (despite a glass of Rose poured and sitting in front of me) whilst waiting for starters. So far so good.......

Between starters and mains it happened! I picked up the glass and sipped. Disappointed with myself ,but something in my head,(not the beast but me I think ) was saying I HAVE to find out! I had spent the last 3 days agonising wheter I could moderate? now was the moment to find out.

Our waitress was super effecient and topped up glasses continually, I stuck to alternating and had polished of the water and thought I am OK, I can do this!

Did not count of Mr East changing his mind about his choice he had started on red MEN!
So when the waitress took the order for more bottles I declined saying I was fine,

YEEKS!!! the Rose was empty, Just me drinking it! This was over a period of 4 hours though, not a reason (but normally I would have easily doubled that ,in the time prior to my AF days )

Then came the complementary Italian Lemoncello (used as a digestive in Italy) love the stuff ,didnt like to offend the manager (old friend)so accepted. Opps! Why do I have to be a people pleaser?
I remained the most sober -calculated the bill, counted the cash ,helped open the door,(seemed to baffle some my friends) I dont think they will be happy bunnies this morning!
Anyway, to end the story, I am sorry guys, I didn't meet the expectations you had for me:upset:

I also exceeded the alcohol units allotted for Mods, Am I off the programme now sweetpea?

You know I feel OK today, not hungover, but closer to understanding that AF iIS an easier option it takes so much pressure off of me. The decision to drink comes with many others What, When ,How much............
Reminds me of another quote,:H

Eastender, you are not alone. To be honest with you, I think you handled things well. You thought about it constantly, you drank water, you turned down the second bottle and you feel ok today.

All of my words yesterday about looking for my grandmother's ring, which I lost, doing the paperwork that I desparately needed to do, didn't happen.

Stayed in bed, slept, woke up, squeezed a few grapefruit, topped it off with vodka, went back to bed. Didn't drink much, but drank. No supps either.

So, back to day 1 yet again for both of us. I too know that I have to go AF and not mod for a while. Felt like a diferent person in just 7 days.

We are going to get snow tonight. So I better look for the ring today. Think I better go into work today, to get some of the paperwork done. Obviously can't stay here yet, without caving. Although, I was so upset, poured everything down the drain.

Back to the farm stand again, to get some good stuff that I can prepare today in order to make healthy food to eat this week.

Eastender, I feel that every experience is important to us all, either it teaches us something about ourselves or reenforces what we already know about ourselves.

Not looking forward to the call from my sis today.

I'l be thinking about you today, as we both start another day 1.

Thanks for the message , I do feel that there is a shift in my way of thinking,something is happening because prior to MWO I would not have even thought about the way ,what and where before and during, just feeling remorseful the day after.
As I said I feel OK today,which is a big surprise usually I am beating myself up.
I went to bed dreading my confession!

I hope that you find your grandma's ring,
Its a strange phenominom(?) but whenever I look for something I find whatever I was searching for last! Strange but true.

Eastender, went into work today to get some personal stuff done. Overwhelming stuff. Had huge anxiety attack, but nothing helped. Had a conversation with my grandparents, asking them to help me find the ring. We had a big windstorm yesterday and will have snow/rain tonight. It was today or never.

Had a call from my best friend (she and her family are big drinkers and hard to be around when I'm trying to go af). She invited me up to her house. Her whole family was there. It seems that I forgot her late husband's 5th anniversary Mass. Have never done that before. What little catholic guilt remains within me, got so upset. Walking up the driveway, on my way to having a couple of drinks, found the ring.

I had asked mimi/papa, my grandparents for help, for a sign, that I needed to clean up my act. I got it. You were right. i did find it when I didn't expect it.

I love your quotes. I thank you for giving me the hope that I would find the ring.

Hopefully, I can get back on track, and go af again. I certainly can't go mod right now.

Eastender NO WAY are you OFF the programme. The December Action plan says no more than 14 units in a week. As long as you have 4 days AF you can consume them in 1,2 or 3 days. To make it work it has to be flexible. You did everything that was suggested by not drinking before the meal, you kept drinking water and most importantly said NO to the second bottle. You woke up the next day without a hangover having had a really good night with the intention of remaining AF for the day. Well done is what I say.

Suki I am sooooooooo pleased you found your Grandmothers ring. You know she is looking over you and I think it is a sign to say that she loves you and wants to stay close to you. This is such a hard time for you so keep strong we are certainly thinking of you. On the anxiety front I have a little trick that might help when things are bad and you need a quick de stress moment. This can be done any time, any place and any position - but I would try it by yourself in front of a mirror first until you get the hang of it. If possible tense every muscle in your Body as tight as you can - hold for 5 seconds - Relax the muscles - Repeat as often as you need. Sometimes you may be in the position when you can only do part of the body without being noticed - tensing the muscles in the legs go unnoticed. It certainly works for me so it might be worth giving it a try.

Teardrop glad you treated yourself it is so important that we put ourselves first sometime. I have spent years always getting things for other people but now realize since I have been on this site that it is OK to put ME first occasionally
