Hi Everyone,
Just like to share this with you.
Quiet a few weeks ago my friend from work borrowed me this buddism book to read. I was saying to her that i was looking for a buddha statue. By the way she does healing, she ask her friend if she had anymore buddha statue lift. she had one lift it was a gold one. so she said she would save it for me
Anyway the other day a parel come my son put it in the kitchen. I thought it was for my husband b'cause he is always orders things from e-bay. The night my husband must of open the parcel. In the morning i see this solid wooden buddha it is a really nice one. one that i would of chosen myself. When i ask my husband did it have my name on it, He said yes. I thought it was my friend that sent it, but she does not have my home address. The think is dont know who sent it . my friend said it is meant to be, i was meant to have this buddha. I do find this a bit spooky. What do you think?

Eastender How long are the builders going to be there for?
suki I dont like to see people go it is upsetting. When i worked for the bank they had redundancy got everyone together in a crown, handed the letters out the ones that got made redundancy ran of crying. They always seem to do this before xmas time, it not fair!
Sweetpea: I have losts a bit of appetite, it a shame cant do with the drink.
Rustop: know the feeling about the pc if its not the kids it the other half hoging it.

Oh yes i forgot to say did not drink last night, but one of my clients today, i work for give me extra xmas money and a bottle of wine.:upset:

Sweetpea: glad your feeling optimistic, its is a good sign!

Eastender: I forgot to tell 1dayAF, had one of those nightmares about flying swords every where i had to keep ducking and diving everywhere. NOt as bad as my other dreams when you feel to scare to go back to sleep.

I have a xmas party to go to on saturday my neightbours. BUT the last time i had a drink over there i think i made a fool of myself.:blush: never sang on a karaoke. but i did that night. At the end of the night someone made me a cup of coffee must of needed it, anyway drop that all over my neightbour lap, he was ok about it, but could not stop saying sorry. dont know what else happen. The thing is my hubby might be going out with his friends that night and if i go on my own i will end up drinking more. I will just have to try and do my bests and report back to you on sunday or monday.

Another day in paradise at my house (not)
Cold no water at times or electric so stuck in limbo! Phone calls for business (money) not pleasure..............Normal day for me really
Builders gone until tomorrow morning ,so tried to catch up with you all.

Builders here until friday evening finish for Xmas then back after, will find out when tomorrow.
I have a dream interpretation book will search out and see what the flying swords are all about!
The Gold Buddha? I agree with your friend meant to be, but if you would have picked it yourself, even better still. You should always chose the one you are drawn to.
Among Buddhas last words is his advice:"strive on with awareness" we can all awaken-but it takes great mindfulness and effort. Maybe a message for all of us that cannot let go of our cravings!
My elder daughter has a buddha, I bought him as a present while I was out with her to cheer her up. She chose him out of around 20. He has followed her around since leaving the nest and has pride of place in her home today. She rubs his tum every day and swears he brings her peace in bad times. I hope yours will too Teardrop.:h

I REALLY WOULD LIKE MY HOUSE IN ORDER PLEASE GOD! No matter how hard I work so difficult to keep on top of it. Even my bedroom is not my santuary just somewhere to dump!

Morning all. Yes, I'm Fine. Thanks, East, Sweetpea.

Just had two days from hell at work. I'm the only one who does this one particular project. I work in the Studio of an ad agency for a big financial company, very forward thinking, except in this project. Had to create 4 12-page forms on a MAC, then convert it to forms on the PC (takes about 12 hours each for). My PC crashed. The forms were due Friday. Normally, I would stress out, go in over the weekend, go in on Monday, a vacation day. But no, not now. I made a plan for myself for the next four days.

Doesn't sound exciting, but it is for me. Walking everyday (have gained 10 lbs. since eating quinoa!), doing all the paperwork I need before yearend, file it all, start the drink tracker thing, (couldn't figure it out, tho), make a list of the supps I want to take and stick with it. These four days are my training camp for joining you Sweetpea and going AF in January.

I am really excited about starting a new year, a new chapter in my life when I can kick stress and :alf: in their butts!

Sweet, Mr Pea sounds like such a love! Aren't you the lucky one to have such support. Yes, yes, I'll be there with you in January AF, AF, AF.

Poor East! It sounds like your builders came from the US! Love old Victorian houses, though, even though it must be lot lot of work to keep up, I bet it looks so special decorated for the holidays, regardless if your toilets are runnng. Good for you for starting AF during all that turmoil.

Teardrop, I believe in weird things happening. I stopped in at church one day during lunch time, was feeling pretty low. There was a woman sitting next to me, but I didn't pay any attention to her. As I sat there, thinking about my mom and dad, grandparents, she got up and left. Ten minutes later, I got up and turned around. The little lady who had been sitting next to me was there, She put her arms around me, kissed me on the cheek, said don't worry, everything will be ok, and left. She looked, sounded and dressed exactly like my grandmother. Ever since then when I dream, I'm in her house. Teardrop, you are not alone. We are all here for you. Teardrop, what is panto?

Something weird/wonderful has happened to me since finding the Fireworkers. I no longer dread the weekends, because that trigger of being alone that started me drinking too early on a saturday or sunday has disappeared. Christmas is in three days. I've decided to put it on hold, for a week or two. Not going to stress out about buying things for people out of habit, visiting people I don't want to. Stressing that what I'm buying is enough or whatever. These four days are my gift to myself, getting ready for January. AND I've already received the best gift I could have dreamt about, this thread, the Firecrackers, your support and finally the feelings of peace and hope.

To all of you Fireworkers, thank you for my Christmas present! It's the best ever.

Sweetpea. My builder returned this morning and put my toilet right :goodjob: I am about to of have a good clear up but wanted to see how everyone was doing before I start!
I hope the Peas House is not too manic and you are still enjoying each others company.

Suki. I have started the Drinktracker, When you log in, the next screen has on the second line of boxes date, choose the date, add the units (I am presuming) choose green/yellow for mods/AF and submit. Should do the trick!
I was not AF on thursday night hit 2 bottles of wine( think because I felt so out of control with everything else) STUPID!!! How would that help?
AF yesterday and today I hope!
I love my Victorian house but you are right needs a lot of care and attention.
There have only ever been 5 families living here, all long term 20 or more years.
To add to your spooky story, The original papers for the house were sent by our bank a couple of years back, The history was interesting and we found that the first owner occupier had the same name as us!
I sometimes smell a sweet tobacco in the house, reminds me of my grandfather, so I know someone is here. Both my daughters when they were small have also seen a bearded gentleman in their room a couple of times.I or the girls are not in the least bit scared everyone who visits says it is a "Happy House."
The lady in the church if not your grandmother, must be your guardian Angel.
I too am preparing for AF January and stocking up on supps , your plan for the future is great and so positive.
I was touched by your message to the firecrackers,You Know, you are right those wrapped presents under the tree are just trinkets,The most precious present you can give AND receive is love and understanding. You cannot buy it,nor steal it and it costs nothing to give.
So I too, thank all of you for my Xmas present.:whee:

So much for my good plans. Went out early today, to go to Target (do you have those in the UK?), the pet store, to get litter and food and xmas presents for the furry ones. Stopped at the market to get a few of the things I needed, (Going to the farm stand early tomorrow morning with my friend Nanci.) Passed the liquor store and thought that, since I'm getting my place cleaned up and wanted to have friends over during the holidays, I'd get some wine and vodka in, in case I wanted to entertain. Bad idea.

Made a bloody mary mid afternoon. Had done at least 4 loads of wash.(So much for one person.) So many more to do. Had another BM, sat on the bed to watch some sports and fell asleep.

Woke up several hours later. Realized that I had done nothing I had planned to do about the paperwork..

Refuse to beat myself up. My friend Nanci and her kids love me, I spoke with one of my cousins today. We talked about xmas. A the end of the conversation, she said, bye, love you. (that part of the family refuses to use that word) Told her that that was the best present she had given me.

Can't wait for 2008. Can't wait for going AF with you Sweetpea, and any of the Firecrackers who are joining us.

After reading Cindi's posts over the last couple of days, after trying to stick to my plan, I realized how hard this journey is. I am so thankful that I have found all of you.
