Good morning firecrackers,
Great post East. What a pain in the rear your van "purchase" has been. My counseling has encouraged me to look for the gift in events that appear for all intents and purposes to suck. Sometimes it's not really obvious, but even thinking in that mode does tend to take the edge off the experience and it doesn't fester. Most times I just have to chalk things up to a learning experience. And...news flash... I've learned a lot lately!

One thing is for sure. The more you know, the more you know you don't know....you know?

Anyway... so happy to see you back on the express. I actually think that just around the next bend there is a gentle down-slope --so if the engine goes wacky we should be able to keep going for a while. But if we do need to get out and push.... I will help while Erin works on the problem (I have a feeling she is mechanically inclined )

Remember Living's post on the March Madness thread about having the key? What a concept -- we can actually get out of anything if we remember to use our key. I am keeping mine close by just in case.

Fby - Oh, dear - mechanically inclined in not my forte so perhaps we may need to look for another passenger for that one. That said though, I am always in need of help and glad you and everyone is onboard.

Sweetpea - I you are reading this, just know we're ready tp pick you up when you are ready - just send along your station and we'll find the right tracks to get us there.

East - Nice to see your post. Aren't kids grand? (Well, most of the time)

Gary - keep it up...we're proud of you!

If possible, lets do a roll call again today. When Sweetpea does check in, we want to make it easy for her as she has for us.

Count me in too!! I am aiming for as many days as possible, did mess up a couple days ago for a couple days (few maybe) but didn't really overdo it to where I blacked out or had hangovers, just feels WAY better (physically and mentally) to go AF!!!

Good job everyone, you all sound great!!! I m a little busy right now but will be "lurking" as they say, later!!

Have to be quick today very busy, all the old people, i see tomorrow... i'm seeing today.

I know i have had lots of slips but have to keep coming back it may take????WHO knows just got to keep working at it.

Glad to see at least at this station we picked up a few, today onto the next! I am not as good with names as Sweetpea, my she has a memory!
But calling all firecrackers before Erin blows the whistle ( She loves doing it and we don't want to leave anyone behind! Next stop tomorrow who is on the train today?

Flutterby my friend, I have always tried to see the gift in a situation, during my life that has been very hard at times. Mr East and I some 14 years ago were swindled out of a large sum of money in his family business and almost lost our house because of his brothers. He has not had anything to do with them since.Seems a great deal easier for men to "shut off"The gift was we set up ourselves with nothing but the kind help of a few good friends and despite their attempts to ruin us over the years we have come out well.
The difference between us and them is we have a clear concience and can sleep at night. There are a lot of enemies out there looking for them!
MIL & FIL lost everything ,a successful 40 year business and their home. Plus the devastation of a family split.
We spent some years "festering" but it did our health no good and did not affect their continued accumulation of ill gotten wealth. Ironically this year we have just settled the last debt only to be landed with this one! I know what you mean when you say the more we know.......
Just have to move on ,we have been through much worse. I think that the above situation was the trigger of my drinking just to block off the anger and the addiction took over from that. So thank you for your kind words my winged amigo.

Wow East.... you have been through some tough times. I sure wish it was easier to unpack the baggage of our past and shelve some of the triggers that keep distracting us from the lifestyle of OUR choice instead of AL's. I'm with you--- movin' on is the key. Can't change anything in the past but we can choose to have good days in the future. That's what I'm going to do today. One good day at a time! OGDAT! The good thing about MWO is that sometimes when you write this stuff down it actually sinks in.

Hey all, hold up, I am jumping on the train for a ride now!! Just got done reading about everyone (lurking!!) so here I am on day 3, will make it easily today..............Yesterday was quite a challenge w/ FIL and his spitting image, my hubby......................YIKES!! Not an easy pair to sit and have an AF dinner w/!! BUT I did it!!

East, sorry you have had such a hard time..............family/business crap, I think we all have dealt w/ it a little, but sounds like you've had your fair share! Hang in there honey!

Gary, WOO HOO!!!! Day 5!! :goodjob:Playing pool to boot!! I admire you for being able to do that AF! I always thought I played better when drinking, haha........................NOT!!!
