Well done East, you are getting back in the saddle. Not easy when there is so much going on around you. I find it easier when things are quiet and you are in a routine. Got through last night AF, had cravings but had two AF beers and it worked. Not easy when hubby is there with an open bottle of wine! However, I AM DETERMINED TO GO AF THIS LENT so I'll have to stick to the AF beer.

Have a busy Saturday planned, just wanted to say a quick hello.

Have to fess up after reading your post Rustop. Downed one and half bottles of my poison last night, feel dreadful this morning. Kept kicking myself all night long and asking WHY WHY do I do this to myself? Feeling little low today about it all, If I stuck my hand on a hot pan I would learn, this lesson does not sink in.
Been here at MWO now for sometime and had lots of success's. why do I not have the strength to continue being AF. Sorry to whine on but I feel so tired of myself today, guess its the usual reward for last night.
Today I am determined to have a long stretch in March, Lets hope that determination sticks with me!

Hey East, been there, done that. That's what I keep asking myself, why, why, why. I may not have achieved becoming completely AF since joining MWO but those days that I am AF give me hope. Keep trying, that's all any of us can do.

Just read my last post, What a saddo I become when I binge!
Thanks for the reply Rustop ,much appreciated, you are right, I can only do my best to stay AF, sometimes it is easier than others. I am grateful for the mindset that can still prick my commonsense even though it is weak from time to time, those days when it works I do feel good.
Not doing too bad not 100% Af but strictly aware at least this week!
Great to hear from you Sweetpea, sorry to hear of your computer problems. Hope you will be up and running asap.

Hi Everyone (if anyone is still reading)
Have had a great week even though been very stressed! Lounge almost finished new fireplace delivered today has some damage, but I am beginning not to care! Just want my house back! Carpet ordered so much of the dirty work finished.
My secret is that I have listened to MWO CDs every night and gone to sleep with sleep learning. Wow its been doing the trick!
Sorry to hear that you have been feeling unwell Rustop,lots of bugs about, my builders have come down with a cold last two days, I am hoping Man flu:H so it wont be so bad to get. I am starting to feel a little more optimistic today, long may it continue.

I think this is becomming a private thread with a few exclusive members!! Glad that things are coming together for you. I am chugging along ODAT, trying to stay AF for lent. Health wise I cannot go back to daily drinking. Have been too busy to listen to the cd's, must drag them out again. I go through phases of taking the supplements, doing the cd's etc. I really should stick at it all the time. Hope all is well with you Sweetpea and all the other crackers.

Just thought I would pop in with a quick hello. Hope all is going ok with the house East and that you are nearly finished. Hope you are back online Sweetpea and that all is going well for you.

My teenagers are driving me mad!!!! but apart from that am doing ok. White knuckling it on the AF front at times but hanging in there. Determined to get through lent and then take it from there. I feel so, so much better when I am not drinking, I dont know why I keep going back there.

Hi Rustop and all other firecrackers,
The house is finished inside now apart from flooring on the ground floor hall and stairs.
Builders will be back in two weeks to start outside though. I love my old house but once you start its like the film "The money pit" ( Tom Hanks!)
I feel a lot better today I was getting so stressed that it was effecting me physically.
I have appointment for the Docs on Thurs "Stone in face appointment" There is always something!
I have been having huge ups and downs with my drinking started to get to bottle a night again so I decided to not have any in the house this week. That is not a huge step as the off licence is a five minute walk away. Like you say Rustop I do not want to go there but there are times I am such a whimp and give in. I am so strong on everything else I just do not understand, but hey that's why I am back reading here again.
Teenagers are here to torment us methinks!, My youngest has been a complete nightmare for the last 5 years, she will be 19 this year but I see no" settling down "like most advise me. We are having to take her on holiday with us as her siblings have both informed me that they cannot cope with her!

Have got to day 11 without my daily fix of wine so feel I am doing really well - Best I have done since my original 30 days Still ODAT

Rustop I agree I feel so much better when I am off the wine because I seem to have more energy about me. But I have been here before so know that it is really one day at a time and to keep my wits about me regarding that sneaky chap AL. But so far so good though. Have started an exercise regime as well so hopefully may loose some weight. Sorry the kids are driving you mad :l

East so very pleased the house has finished. You can now relax and enjoy it. What does "Stone in face appointment" mean. Whatever, I hope it goes well for you. Good idea not to keep any wine in the house. That has wordked for me:l

To all the other crackers I hope you are all doing well

Well done Sweetpea, 11 days is amazing. Once you get on roll it does get easier but as you say Al is sneaky, we have to keep our guard up. I've had an easy week for some reason. Al hasnt bothered me at all which is amazing. Thats not to say that he is not waiting around the corner!! Only another couple of weeks left in lent. Once I complete that I plan to go for another two weeks so that I will have completed two months. That's as far as I am planning and taking it ODAT.

I have driven myself mad in the past, counting days, planning 30, 60 etc. then failing and feeling terrible. I have stopped all that and feel better as a result. Feeling much better without the wine in my system so long may it last.

East, so pleased your house is nearly finished. I laughed when I heard that your older kids could not cope with the younger one, does them no harm to be reminded of what we put up with as parents!!

Hope all the other crackers are doing ok. Drop in and let us know how you are if you are reading this.

Just popping in to see how the Veterans areIt does seem a little exclusive at the moment!:H
Have been keeping off the wine mainly because of guilt ,at the hospital when I was asked how many units I consumed! I lied how stupid ! Even then it was still higher than I am allowed.
Sweetpea Well done you on your 11.......now 15 days? thats excellent! :goodjob:
My "stone in face "was mentioned earlier on in the thread but my face swelled for no apparent reason some weeks ago and although I had (yet more) antibiotics my GP said he thought it was stones in the salivary gland! I have seen the Oral surgeon who has sent me for an ultrasound and dye test and flush (Salivagram????) booked over the next two weeks at hospital, The appointment at the hospital was very scary there were two patients there with cancers of the mouth and face which is another thing our friend Al is guilty of causing. Another reason for quitting.

Yes East 15 days and feeling really good about it. Hope the tests go well - never heard of a salivagram before They really are bringing so many more test as science and medicine improves. Anyway I hope all goes well for you:l Yes it does seem a bit exclusive but I am really pleased we are so supportive of one another.

Rustop the computer is limping on to live another day fingers crossed. 2 months will be fantastic well done on what you have achieved so far. You are so right I am functioning much better without all that wine in my system.

As rustop ssays it would be great hearing from some of you other crackers to find out how you are getting on
