Reason # 6: Consumes too much thought

    Hi all,

I missed yesterday as I was out of town - parents weekend so much fun!!! My daughter is doing so well in college and having so much (but not too much fun). She is more balanced than her mom.

I was not AF this weekend as I planned but was easily moderating. Did not have any compulsion to keep drinking plus no opportunity. Good point - I need to remove those opportunities!!

    At any rate here goes:

Reason # 6 to stop drinking: Al occupies too much thought - when can I get him. . . . did I get as much as the person next to me . . . . where is that waiter and can he bring me more AL . . . . will anyone notice if I have another . . . how can I hide AL. The list goes on!!!

    Have a great Sunday!!!

    Hi Evergreen-

Glad the visit worked out so well!

#6 - good one. I'm always amazed at people who sip, SLOWLY, leave half glasses, etc. Once I have a little AL, he won't shut up the whole rest of the evening! He's a nag! Tugging at me non-stop. more! more! more! yuk.....

I'm right w/you. When I planned a solitary drinking session, the obssessing was about getting it, hiding it, & drinking it (wo/anyone noticing). Why would I want to put myself through that? Yes Al occupied way too much space in my head. Mary

Do we all agree that AL deserves a painful death at the hands of all he has made suffer?

I suggest the drain-- but other forms of punishment might be better deserved. Any ideas?
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

          The toilet is very symbolic....
Q: How do I become the person I want to be?
          A: Practice, of course.

            Hey beatle?

I think you should stick the bugger in a pan turn the heat up high and boil the hell out of the git until it evaporates!!! If your really, really evil, simmer for hours until the have the same result then burn the pan to destroy any traces left of it. BUT BEWARE!!! The demon police have little testing kits that'll catch you out!!!

              Beatle,

I like that thought - - - slow painful death or even rapid excrutiating!!!
I have one up on the drain or toilet. When my mom was in the midst of her alcoholism and I was about 12 I took all the liquor in my house and poured it in the golf course pond in the middle of the night. Maybe I need to move to a golf course community or at least stalk one.

Evergreen -- great topic -- it makes me think about how much time I wasted. I live in a town that does not sell booze on Sunday & I would make up nonsense excuses on Saturday night if I realized I would not have enough. Craziness!!!:new:

Good morning Evergreen and all, As you I slipped up this weekend, but not as bad as I would have in the past. Anyway its Monday and I was AF Sun, Which makes for a much more enjoyable day. As far as a slip up, my therapist put it this way, "if you get a spot of ketcup on your shirt you don't just pour the rest of the bottle on you" Don't throw in the towel for one slip up. I'm with you too much time spent thinking about Al, Another thing I don't like about alcohol is thinking people at the grocery are thinking, she was just here, so I would try to go to different places. (small town I'm in) Wasted time and gas to ge AL at different locations or stock up and say, oh, it's for a party. Nobody was probably paying attention anyway, just I felt quilty.

                    kill AL

I agree w/ you all he just does occupy too much of my brain, the precious thing he likes to hurt! I think a long slow and painful death best suits him. I always think all day about what I am going to drink (or not drink)that day, look how much time I spend here, talking about the stupid thing!!! AAUURGGHH!!:durn:
