Hi I'm feeling a bit embarassed
:new: Hello everyone I've just signed up. My friends would be amazed I'm doing this - or maybe not. I drink wine everyday almost every day. I am a habit induced alchoholic rather than somone who is phsically dependent. A big part of my problem is I am with a group of friends who drink every time we meet which is often, I drink with my partner in the evening - in fact there is very litlle of my social life that doesn't involve drink We went to new friends for diner the other evening. Between the 4 less than a total of 1 bottle of wine was drunk. It was such a nice evening (I drank less than half a glass because I was driving) - I realized that I don't need the alchohol to have a good time - but I still drink - why can't I do that with my other friends.Tags: None

Hi I'm feeling a bit embarassed
Hi and welcome Weeone, stick around and take it slowly. No need to feel embarrassed
we all understand how you feel. If you do continue to drink from habit, it doesn't take
long to become physically and psychologically dependent. Can you explain to your partner
and friends that you are worried about the health effects?
Wishing you well. Paula..

Hi I'm feeling a bit embarassed
Welcome Weeone! Don't be embaressed! You sound a lot like me. My friends and I loved to drink. But, I moved across the country and have not located any new drinking buddies as of yet:H . My husband is my drinking buddy now and he had decided to go on this journey with me.
You will find so many supportful people here who do not drink or moderate. Maybe they could be your new friends for a while!?
