Yes it is for real. Many people have had success if you use the tools of the program. Whether you choose to moderate or go AF (alcohol free) you will find that the support on these threads is amazing. Everyone hear has the same challenges and as you read through the threads you find so many comanalities. It is certainly helping me!

Hi Paleface! and welcome-
The MWO program is laid out in the book - which you can download from this site if you wish. Also go through the FAQ's and the Getting Started thread for an overview.

It's basically a combination of tools: supplements, cd's, exercise, meds if you opt for them, and peer-to-peer support on this board. Some people have the goal of moderating their drinking, others wish to cut alcohol out altogether.

Keep reading and posting - all threads are open to everyone - just jump in wherever the spirit moves you. And if you're feeling the need for instant help - start a thread on the "Need Help ASAP!" forum, and you'll get lots of support immediately!

If you have a problem with alcohol (which I'm assuming you are since you're here!), you're bound to find all kinds of stories you can relate to and answers to your questions as well. We're all in this together and there's great support here whenver you need it.

Yes this site is for real, the MWO programme is for real and has helped a huge number of people already, and the people here are definitely for real. Many of us have met up with each other in person and many of us privately share our phone numbers/private e-mails with each other. You will find people at all stages of the struggle with alcohol-- and we support each other through other struggles in life as well.

I'm not sure why you find this site complicated... it IS busy and there are many different forums, but it is organized in a simple way and should be easy to navigate (at least I find it easy and I am not a real computer person). Anyway, you found your way here. You don't need to go anywhere else if you don't want to. Just keep comng back. WELCOME.

Welcome. Wonderworld said it all.

Yes, this place is fabulous. Was AF for 7days until last night. Starting again today, but feel so hopeful for the first time in years. Not depressed or beating myself up for having a drink last night.

The folks here are so supportive and helpful. Have taught me so much about myself. I feel like I'm at home when I'm here.
