    Silly comment from hubby

Ok, I just had to write this down, Saturday myself, hubby and son went to get our Christmas tree. We stopped at Wendys for some lunch, I ordered a diet coke, he ordered nothing, get this, because he said the diet coke wasn't good for you. I said ok but beer is? He drinks as much as I do. Which is anywhere between 6-8 drinks a night. What is even worse is that is exactly how I felt. Love my diet coke but didn't drink to much of it because how bad it is for you, well to much of it anyway, but then I would turn around and chug all that beer. It just amazes me how we kid ourselves. Going on 4days AF, praying I can keep going. Love waking up guilt free. Just wanted to share that with you all, hope I havn't bored you to much with it. Looking forward to my LARGE glass of diet coke.

LOL, I gave up diet coke after chugging it back for years after reading ONE article on how bad it is!

But I do think if we can't give up the booze we can at least make a damn good effort that everything else we put in our bodies is going to provide some goodness.

tkeene - she is a newfie, my big baby! Thanks for the replies, marbella I absolutley agree we need to fill our bodies with good nutrition. I am usually pretty good at it,(except the beer and wine) but still love my diet coke, drink more of it when not drinking beer, trying to drink more water.

          Just Starting out

Hi everybody, I stumbled upon this site and it seems like just what I needed.!! After reading some posts, It feels like home.
ie: statements like, I like waking up not feeling guilty and trying to rationalize the drinking.
I was 2 weeks AF and then slipped up over the weekend. But today I will not drink.
I need to model for my Daughter who is recovering from back surgery from a fall that was alcohol related!!!!
          I need to be strong!
May our choices today not result in regret, but rather be wise

2sox, drink your diet coke. Give your newfie a big hug from me. I bought my dad, (who was a huge dog person) when he came down with guillian barre syndrome, which left him paralyzed from the neck down (love those those flu shots, and he was a doctor). Carried Freida, a 20+ lb. 8 week old newfie up 8 flights of stairs at Mass General Hospital. It was the first time in 6 months that my dad moved a finger. They were inseparatable for 8 years after that.

Having a bad time, can you tell? Love cats, but newfies are the best.

Suki411, sorry to hear about your dad, how awful. Newfie's are the best dogs, I have had dogs all my life pretty much and the newfie so far has been the best, although, it is hard to keep her groomed.
