Ditto on Bookmom's message .. don't have any solid advice, just want you to be safe and get better. Is there anyone in your life that can help you?
Also, I hear you about the way people act. That's why I'm so bloody reluctant to tell doctors anything at all. I finally went to see a psychiatrist and was only able to accomplish this through seeing my primary physician (a crappy HMO situation). She looks to be about 12 ... and made me feel like such a loser when I fessed up on the alcohol .. although who knows, possibly that was my own guilt complex kicking in ..
      Please feel better Pink!!

Anyone heard from Pink today? I've had her on my mind all morning wondering how she's doing. Hope she made it through the night okay, and hopefully she'll sign in soon.

              Pink, please post! What's up?

You can PM me anytime. I am the expert, ha ha, in detoxing (really, you'd be surprised what experience and research can add up to). I have had similar experiences to you. I've been in detox centres and know exactly what you have felt. You are not a loser, and neither am I. No matter what, I will never go back to that place.

I don't know where you live, I live in central Europe. (1 hour ahead of England, 6 hours ahead of NY, 9 hours ahead of US West Coast). I will be watching.

Detoxing at home can be very dangerous but there are many precautions you can take. I am not a professional, but I've been through it and really know a lot about it. But I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to the detox centre.

Rosalind's idea is good, but it will only work if you have someone to do it with you.

If you felt really bad, I think it was right to drink a bit. Less dangerous anyway.

You need a new doctor. There are meds that can help greatly with detox, and there is no reason for your doc to not prescribe them for a few days.

Heavy-duty supplementation (vitamins, minerals and amino acids in REALLY large amounts) can accomplish what drugs do. Why not both???? Just do what you have to and stay safe.

Please, let us know where you are.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Pink it sounds like you are going through a hard time. Wish I was knowledgeable about this but I have never had withdrawal symptoms aside from horrible insomnia and conversely, horrible fatigue.

Can you call someone who can help you get food? What about your neighbor?
Can you call your insurance company and get the name of an addictions specialist who is in your network (if you are US based that is)? Addictions specialists are much better than general doctors for this kind of stuff.

Or should you go to the Emergency room? This sounds very serious. I can't tell if you are suggesting you have delirium tremens and really hope you get help ASAP.

I found this on the Need Help ASAP part of this website:

Please visit the following links and seek professional care if you are experiencing alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

Please just remember it gets worse each time. I'm concerned that you are still shaking so badly.

Maybe you can drink with a straw so you can make sure you are getting enough fluids?
