    Hi, I'm new

I'm just finishing up my second day without alcohol. Actually I'm nervous right now being here and all I can think about is......well, you know what.

Thanks for having me. Hope I'm posting in the right place.

        Hi, I'm new

        :welcome:Keeper!!!!

No need to be nervous. We've ALLLLLL been where you're at (and a large percentage of us have such sentiment that that we relive the "new times" somewhat frequently

Point is: You're here, and you're welcome with open arms. No judgment! (that's the unspoken rules here). Moderation - OK! Abstinstenance - Great! What do YOU want for You....TODAY? (it could - and often does - change tomorrow, and we'd still be here to support you)

Join me on Chat latter (I'm catching up on today's posts). I've got Life drama to share, but want to be supportive first...

          Hi, I'm new

Welcome Keeper, you will find this site so helpful. I just found it a couple weeks ago, have still not managed AF, but it is a huge relief to talk to others like me and not feel as much of this horrible shame, feeling like I was all alone in this problem.

                      Hi, I'm new

Yep, ditto. Welcome.... it's a cliche, but the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step or one day sober followed by another.... you can do this if you want to.

                          Hi, I'm new

                          Good luck for day 3!

                          Hi Keeper!

                          Welcome to the community!!

I can still remember back to my first few days sober and I have to say it is a scary place to be in. There is so many things going around in your head that it is hard at times just to function properly with regular daily things. I kept busy during my early days by posting as much as I could, even if it was just about how I was feeling at the time. It kept my brain occupied with other things than thinking about picking up a drink. Whatever it takes was my motto in the beginning and I did just that. I also took things one day at a time and didn't set myself goals that were too far beyond my reach.

Great to have you here (I mean that in a good positive way!!!)

Just a word of warning, day 3 is often hard, so be strong and prepared for the next day or so. Just focus on your goal and know that the crap will pass. hopefully you won't even notice!
