    questions re CDs,etc-- need a little more help

    hello everyone! I have been on the site for about a month .. have found it incrediby inspirational and given me hope I've lacked for a long time ... but still haven't managed to go AF or even really cut down. In my slacker way, I keep waiting for something to kick in regarding motivation but it hasn't happened. I have been hoping to do this without the meds, as I'm already on a couple other meds. I'm taking the supps (kudzu, I-Glut, Amino acids) but not noticing any real effect. I didn't order the hypnosis CDs, I guess because I am kind of a cynic and thought it wouldn't do anything for me.
    My questions: should I give the CDs a try?? aI know, it couldn't hurt, but have many people found them extremely helpful? (when I say I'm trying to conserve cash, I have to of course think of what I spend on booze:upset: ), and, do the supps take a while to build up in your body ...? any feedback welcome .. thanks!!!

    Just started on the supps myself and I am with you on the CD's - didn't buy them either - A) don't really have anywhere to listen to them and b) not really into the hypnotherapy although I do hear it has helped others. The supps have helped a little in terms of making me feel a little better and I have cut down - have had a lot more AF days than before but I still do get cravings - not as bad though - but do I feel like it has been a majic pill - no, but I do feel that they have helped cut down. Been on them for 2 weeks. Don't know if that helps any.......
    Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

      FWIW, I haven't yet tried the Kudzu or the l-Glut...and I may yet try them as I've read good things, and I'm willing to try anything that works...but am currently on a cocktail of the following (some, not all, as directed by MOW book, as I was already taking some of these before becoming aware of the MWO program):

      B-complex
      Milk thistle
      Flaxseed oil
      Omega fish oil
      Spirulina
      Folic acid

      And topamax, currently at 75mg (which I learned of through MWO)

      Have had NO negative side effects from topamax to date.

      Have noticed considerable lessening of cravings, though I'm still drinking. I drink less, and much more slowly. Without consciously trying. By that I mean, for example, that on a recent 5 hour evening out with friends, I had only 3 (large, admittedly) glasses of wine. It wasn't a struggle at all -- I had a GREAT time -- but I was rather shocked when I realized as they were ordering their THIRD glass each, that I still had a good third glass of wine left in my FIRST glass...I didn't feel that "desperation," for lack of a better word. That feeling of "what if they RUN OUT?!" If you know what I mean.

      So. While I'm still enjoying my wine, I'm not ENJOYING it to the degree I used to. Not by a longshot.
