    New MWO member

    Hi all,

Last week I was reading all over the internet about alcoholism and stumbled upon MWO and found it to be interesting and ofcourse ordered the book and cd's. I also am a member on the SMART website which I also find very useful. I had abstained for one year and two months before I decided to drink again. My brother was dying from cancer and I was his caretaker. He died in June.

My downfall is wine. I am wanting abstaination as my goal. I am not choosing to use prescription drugs for cravings. I have had the cd's for only two days but I think they are helpfull.

Anyway, new territory here for me.:new:

Welcome, Jettagirl. So very sorry about your brother. Was caretaker to my mom before she died 2 years ago, so I understand what stress you've been through.

You did it before, you can do it again! You'll find lots of support here and some pretty wonderful people. Keep reading and posting.

I've learned more about myself and have done more to help myself in the last month by being here.

This is a good place. And, it's open and honest and you won't be judged. People are fun and supportive of each other! Glad you're here.
I'm sorry for your loss. I've had serious losses to, and they are devastating. The first year is always the hardest. Just remember, he's in the arms of his angel. And, so are you...

Welcome JG - you have found a truly great place.

I am sorry about your brother - losing a loved one is always hard.

As others have said - you have successfully abstained before - so you know you can do it.

I hope we can make it just a bit easier this time.

              Good Luck

Look forward to seeing you around

              Love

Sorry I'm a little late in welcoming you jettagirl. I didn't want to give you my cold by breathing on you . Anyhow, welcome to MWO - I think you will find that if you read here every day and read all the information all over the website, you will find it a huge help to getting back on the wagon. Please post whenever you feel like it - we are all friends here.

I understand how you feel about prescription drugs - many of us do not use them. But you should look at the section of the book about supplements and think about taking some of them - especially the kudzu and L-glutamine which are extrememly helpful. Just a suggestion.

                    :welcome:
Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

I do love the cd's and ordered the ab's add on. I also have a guided imagery cd from health journeys I am using again to.
