        Questions about withdrawal

        Mystical:

whether you need drugs depends on how much you drink. You don't want to get seizures mentioned on the links above. Of course many people don't get severe symptoms and you can live with the other ones for a while till they pass (insomnia and irritability, for example).
Can you talk this over with a health professional, giving your history of drinking and your intake daily?

Also, you can still take supplements (vitamins) to make up for poor nutrition. That's not addictive.

            Questions about withdrawal

            Hi Mystical

I so totally understand the irritability. I also get the shakes first thing in the morning as well as feeling extremely anxious. I also have trouble sleeping.

I started taking the Calms Forte and they really seem to help me with these symptoms. I'm on a much more even keel, my hands don't shake and the anxiety feelings have been cut in at least half. I take one in the morning, one at lunch and one before coming home from work.

Then before going to bed I take two. They don't knock me out like prescription drugs they just help me drift off into a fairly good sleep. They're all natural and I especially love that I'm not left with a "drug hangover" the next day that I can't seem to shake off all day.

I got them through the MWO shop site.

Hon, please stick it out for your own health and happiness. Live day to day but look to the future when you will feel truly wonderful again. You can do this. We can all do this.
            Hi there... :new:

                Questions about withdrawal

                Mike,
You say you are having "the shakes", so looks like you are physically dependent, therefore it is dangerous for you to go cold turkey.

I went to my doc for help with quitting, and he couldn`t have been more understanding. He gave me librium to keep me safe during withdrawal, but as I knew I wasn`t actually physically dependent, I decided to go through the withdrawal without taking the tabs. So saying, I still had a really rough time withdrawing. Go see your doc and get yourself something to get you through the withdrawal..........shakes says you are most likely physically dependent, therefore you need medication to withdraw safely. I was embarassed to consult doc........now realize how silly that was, as he said becoming addicted to alcohol can happen to anyone.

                Look after yourself.

                Much love,

                  HELP...withdrawl is driving me crazy!!

HELP!! I am on Day 4 of no alcohol and having terrible dry mouth, plus I broke out in a rash that I thought was posion ivy and went and got a shot for it!!! Now I think its related to the withdrawl. I am taking all the vitamin supplements recommended but the dry mouth is really severe and distracting me from working. I feel ok, otherwise. Does anybody no of something to help relieve this annoying symptom?

                    Hi southerngirl and welcome.
Well done for being on Day 4.
You should drink lots of water. Don`t know about the rash as I didn`t experience anything like that when I quit. However, if you think it may be alcohol related, it would be best to consult a doc about you having quit drinking, just to be on the safe side........let us know how you get on.

                    Wishing you love and strength,

QUOTE FROM MIKE*Has anyone here gone through DT?

                        Mike,
I have gone thru SEVERE DTs, and im the ONLY person I know of out of all the folks I drank with thru the years, that go thru this. The DTs were SO BAD, that I'd be AFRAID to turn the TV off. The DREAMS were the most FRIGHTFUL/Scarry dreams I've EVER had.

I've been told that a person can DIE from the DT's, but for some reaason, God still has me here. I dont wish the DTs on my WORST friend.

                          lucky

I feel lucky cuz I just feel horrible the morning after, then the shakes sometimes, so cannot even THINK about coffee, yet another thing to be grateful about when not drinking,

Wanted to bring this up so others could read all this, it is motivating to me to help me not drink today!!

It just gets worse, or so I've been told!

                          Thanks

                          Mike, how are you??

                            Questions about withdrawal

                            WHY did this happen??

Thinking that i had more AF days under my belt thought i treat myself, 3days drinking last tuesday..(Thinking i be ok) My brain would not let me go to sleep on friday night, to scare where my heart was beating to fast. I thought if i go to sleep i would not wake up. I would of thought this would of happen the first time coming of the drink.

Can anyone say why this happen the second time round ??
Thinking that i would be safe to drink for those few days.
                            family is everything to me

                              Questions about withdrawal

                              Teardrop,

My understanding is that every withdrawal gets worse and worse.

As Chief says, "it is easier to stay quit than to keep quitting."

How are you feeling today? Better?

                              Keep us posted.
