    How do you moderate?

    Thank you so much, Satori!

    Okay! Today is DAY ONE!

I am going to read your post repeatedly before I leave here.

3-5 days is the hardest but after the five days... if I can get through the next THREE DAYS... four and then five... NYE is in there SOMEWHERE... I'm out of options, though.

I will do this! I have your post and everyone's support. I can drop the car off and return home and stay here for much of the day.

      How do you moderate?

      Hi

I LOVE Satori's message. I am going to apply it too. Ok, it's a long tube, Crest, with gel...

I just wanted to say, it seems unlikely to me that the attorneys would care if you are seeking help for depression. I think the area you live in is very liberal area right? and everyone is in some kind of therapy. Are you sure this is a real concern? I can see something like detox or alcohol abuse being on your records as a problem but not pschotherapy. Maybe you could talk to a therapist about what goes on your records with respect to alcohol abuse and make sure that doesn't appear or the minimal amount of info goes to the insurance company.

Don't worry about bringing anyone down.

I love Satori's message as well, I think I'll use some of those. Shikakai, your postings do help you and others. Many other people have felt your private pain. I am in a professional field as well and know that if I do not get a handle on my drinking it will not only jepordize my job but others around me as well all depend on each other. Don't know you very well but a therapist or other professional you trust is so important, don't go this alone. Something else to add, don't pick a specific day to make it right, just do it. I have been slipping up since Thanksgiving and have had that miserable loathing feeling to go along with the already somewhat depressing time of year. I had no alcohol last night and woke up today hopeful for another. Maybe even none on New Years. Would love to start the new year AF before the 31. Take Care

Yes, so would I, so would I... regardless of what DAY it is... any day without the alchi has to be better than a week of straight binging.

NYE is just another reason to get DRUNK.

MM, no exercise today but as soon as I return from the dealership, I'll eat a nice breakfast and pull myself together... again...

Thanks again for the post, Satori... I can do this... I have to.

Oh! As far as not wanting to see a professional... it's not my bosses I'm afraid of but just having been treated for depression goes on your "record".

Yes, well, so many people have been treated for depression. I don't think that's a big deal and you live in a place that is pretty liberal. Lots of people there seek therapy. If your behavior continues you could get much worse things on your record that would be a lot more damaging, like drunk driving. I guess I think this work barrier is not as big of an obstacle as you might think. You could just ask the doctor about what he or she needs to show the insurance companies to get coverage. Or, if you really want to be confidential, pay out of pocket, get sliding scale rates. I think that is relatively easy to find in your neck of the woods.

That is very true, Nancy... many people, especially over the age of 35, seek treatment for depression. I don't know why I'm dwelling on it being a "stigma" when it isn't anymore.

Working for the lawyers' office, I just see how they use that information against the opposition. That's why I'm fearful.

I may not have a choice in the long-run, though. DUI has been heavily on my mind... I have to stop.

Thanks again, everyone. I'm going to prepare to go to the auto center. I hope I parked my car in its stall last night because if it's not there, I don't know where it's at.
