Hang in there! I will pray for us today. Know we are stronger than the urge to splurge!!

Day 3AF scared!!
Skye,
Fear is one of the tricks the beast is using to suck you back into the abyss.
Don't let him.
There is nothing to fear at all. Actually, stop and think about what you should really fear.
Taking that first drink.
Love and strength to you,

Day 3AF scared!!
Hello Skye - It might sound corny, but as I have been stressing about drinking and playing mind games with myself, I've found that if I recast how I say this to myself - from "I'm not drinking" to something along the lines of - "I'm taking control of my life and health" - "I'm going to spend a good night helping my son with school work" - or something along the lines of what I am going to do with my sobriety - pointing out to myself the value of my sobriety - then I find it easier to see through my mind games.
Yes, today I am 6 days AF, but as I move on, I hope I can start saying other things, such as those positive things that I am experiencing now that I'm not dealing with getting drunk/hangovers and the guilt and anxiety that come along with all that.
Hang in there; I know it is going to get better for us.

Day 3AF scared!!
Also on tough days it helps me to break it down into small moments. I won't drink right now. I won't drink for the next 10 minutes, etc. All those moments can add up to a whole day. Stay busy with things you like to do. Instead of going home after work, maybe go shopping or go out with a non-drinking friend, go to the movies, whatever. As soon as you get home, log on to MWO first thing and start reading and posting.
You'll make it through this one today and will feel absolutely great about it! We're with you.Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

Day 3AF scared!!
I'm also on day 3 and I know days 3 - 5 are the toughest - with it coming into the weekend I intend to get out a lot into non drinking areas (ie: movie theatres etc.) with non drinking friends and lots of L-Glut, and I intend to stay close to the boards.......
We can do this - if we can get past this weekend - we are home free..........I know it.........we can do it!Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

Day 3AF scared!!
Skye, Suki, rudemama, masquerade, Senex and universal, I am on day 3 as well and I promise you all, I will not drink today! Let's flip the bird at old Mister AL, letting him know he's not getting ahold of us today! Mags I know you have kicked the butt of the beast a number of times and always have great advice. The more we appreciate life, the more life appreciates and bestows us with more goodness.

Day 3AF scared!!
Great job everyone. Just remember, these are the worst days to get through, and once you make it through these couple of days, it is so much easier. What would you do if a friend was being abusive to you. Tell the beast in yor head to eat S*** and die.Goal 1: Today
Goal 2: Tomorrow

Day 3AF scared!!
You Guys are doing great! You are flying through a storm right now.... Stay strong, stay committed, stay on course, and before you know it, you'll pop out of the clouds into the sunshine...
These few days are the hardest, but you're almost done with the physical withdrawls. It's time to be very firm with yourself, very stubborn. You only want to do this one time. Just simply refuse to take a drink, no matter what kind of bullshit the Beast puts into your head. It's you against him. Let's show the bastard just how tough you really are.
Get mad if you have to. Don't get wimpy or allow the Beast to let you think this is too hard. Tell him to bring it on...hit you with his best shot, so you can slap him down!
You can do it... make it a challenge. Tell The Beast there's a new sheriff in town...
