    Alcohol-Free Wine??

I've seen AF wine mentioned in a few posts... Where do you find this? Which "brands" are good? I find most times it's not really the alcohol that I want but more the "beverage in a wine glass".

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Alcohol-Free Wine??

Miss C. I'm usually a wine drinker, not a beer drinker. Have tried an AF wine from the neighborhood liquour store called Fre. Horrible. Bought one from the grocery store from Inglenook, St. Regis Reserve. Just ok. But must be VERY cold.

Rustop mentioned AF beer, by Beck's. Tried it. Thought it was great. Not only very filling, but after one, maybe half of a second, lost my desire to drink. Try it.

      Alcohol-Free Wine??

I have not been able to find an AF wine. I am a complete wine snob, so I probably won't either..

I have also come to the conclusion that that is too close to my love.. my old love, that is.

I was never a big beer drinker, so I do enjoy a good AF beer. I found a fantastic import (well to us americans), it is called Clausthaler. I believe it is German.

MM, thanks for the tip. Enjoy Beck's, but will try C.

As long as it's German, it must be good!

          Alcohol-Free Wine??

I cannot stand any AF wines, it is just plain Wrong!! Ha Ha......but it makes me want the "Buzz"....so not liking it is a good thing!

I love drinking a beverage in my "Waterford", it seems so festive! So, I mix half cranberry juice with half sparkling water with a squeeze of lime! Yummy! and it looks very festive and pretty!

And the best part..No guilt! No Hangover!!

              Alcohol-Free Wine??

Wine is/ I mean WAS/ my choice. Red, White, or Pink Zin? I was a red wino.
I had a Sutter Home Fre White Zin/served cold, and truthfully, it tasted like old grape jelly. I also have had Inglenook's Red, and while it's against the rulebook, I chilled it, and it was "okay". Actually, I ended up mixing it with a "Swedish Blackberry Currant Sparkling Beverage" , which was actually made in Germany.... and it was even better. Someone on here mentioned mixing juice with a club soda, so that's also an idea...

When I looked for the wine at the liquor store, it took the guy a second, but he found the section in the corner of the store, and they were all dusty bottles. However, when I've been to our grocery store, I didn't find them down the rows of REAL choices... they sold them where they had the alcohol mixes (i.e. Virgin Margarita, Pina Cola, Cosmo, Blood Mary Mix).

But, there is also a wine from Germany called Carl Jung. Considering how much I like the German Alcohol Free, I thought I'd give it a try. (Personal favorite NA beer is also Clausthaler, but there's also Paulaner, and St. Pauli Girl N/A, and they are all excellent!)
Carl Jung is only sold on line, and I ordered their sample pack. It arrived yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to open it yet. Will probably open one today, and then I'll let you guys know!

Cranberry juice spritzer -- good choice. Also good for our urinary tract health! Talk about a double bonus!

Like MM, I love real good wine, and have tried the AF wines, could not stand them. I've tried so-called NA (or AF) beer, but really have not found a good AF Hefewiezen, so again, no luck.
No, the cranberry juice spritzer with lime, might try that today!

Bald dude-Try Kaliber. It is Guinness's NA beer. It is my favorite!!! We have a health food store that sells a lot of different types of NA beer. I do like Clausthaler, Paulaner, and Beck's, but Kaliber tastes more like a true beer to me; the others seem a bit skunky to me. I LOVE the taste of beer, but hate being a drunken idiot. When I drink Kaliber I am so happy because I can have the taste of a beer without the ill effects!!! Yea for NA beer!

                      Alcohol-Free Wine??

good news! the J. Lohr winery has a N/A wine that has actually won a competition against "real" alcoholic wines....no kidding! The label 'brand' is Ariel and they make a couple styles. my fav is 'rouge' as it's a dryer red.

I gotta find Kaliber!!! Det, can you get the Ariel at stores, or only on-line? I've seen the reviews on the internet, but haven't found it local yet....

                            Alcohol-Free Wine??

I'm in agreement with everyone here. All the AF wines I've tried are totally disgusting. (Think how wealthy someone would become if they just made a decent one!) AF beer is your best bet. Clausthaler is very, very good and I like Kaliber too. Other than that, I'm still looking for a drink substitute. Nothing seems to satisfy.
