ToH, give that precious hunk of yours a big wet sloppy MWO kiss from us all! He sounds like your best ally in this battle. I do so agree that having someone who truly loves us provides strength when the going is rough. I honestly don't know if I'd much care to change, without my Rock of Gibraltar sweetheart around to be proud of me. Lose that guilt and make the coming years blissful for Mr. ToH! You've already given him such a gift by trusting him to share your struggle---you could easily have chosen to keep hiding, or fight it all alone.
Reading some of the posts about spouses/partners who are apparently real jerks make me so angry! What is the point of marriage if we are not 100% supportive and unfailingly loving towards one another? Some of the stuff I read here is mind-boggling---women who put up with guys who make life harder for them instead of easier! Inconceivable that anyone would put up with meanness...the only thing I can guess is that female alcoholics tend to feel so sheepish, weak, trashy, and worthless that they figure they deserve it? Well, that's another whole topic. You, ToH, have got a jewel of a guy!
