    What the heck???

    Iknow...

I never felt motivated to do anything and I am still struggling with that. I felt tired during the day and at night I couldn't sleep. My problem with sleeping still hasn't improved. I am starting to believe I only need a hour here and there.

For me it is different every week. Last week I was sick with a cold and felt cranky. The weYesterday was a nasty day and I wish I could've stayed home. I realized that I am going to have a lot of down days and I need to have the tools to keep me going.

    It does get better.

      What the heck???

I have a close friend who was a very heavy drinker and she decided to go AF for 3 months before deciding to moderate.
her first month, she was completely tired and kept saying she felt like she was boring and all she did was sit on the couch and read.
then the second month, I couldn't stop her. Now she is beginning moderation but she like being sober better.

Good luck and congrats to you

          What the heck???

This is exactly what I needed, I"m so exhausted and depressed, I had 4 AF free days last week and felt so good, drank over the weekend but did not get drunk or have a hangover, back to AF now, but I'm soooooo tired. Got my kids on the bus this morning and went back to bed, I"m not usually like this and it's getting me down. But glad to see I have something to look forward to. Thanks.

            What the heck???

My energy level dropped too- the one thing I haven't seen mentioned is adding fresh fruit to your diet when you feel sluggish. The natural sugar jump starts my energy- apples are my favorite at about 3 pm....

                  What the heck???

                  Yes!

Day 4 here and since day two I can hardly keep my eyes open from midday till afternoon...yesterday I simply could not keep awake in the late afternoon it was like I had taken a heavy sedative.

I'm presuming it's all related to the bod trying to cope with the changes, to read your post makes me think it's all ok. Funny though isnt it? you'd think tiredness wouldnt be a side effect. Anyway I'm logging off shortly cos I am so tired I need another sluggish sleep, ugh.

Good going on your sober days

                    What the heck???

From everything I've read, it's minor withdrawal symptoms...this is the first time I've been able to quit for so long (on day 12) because I normally can't stand the lethargy. Prior to this time, I always convince myself to have a glass of wine (or 2 or 3) at night because I couldn't stand being so tired and crabby. Sounds like others have had the same experience.

The difference this time around in quitting is I am following part of the MWO program very religiously (all but the medication). I don't see many posts about the Hypnotictape CDs....but I love them. The CDs plus the vitamins have made this not only extrememly easy this time around, but I feel incredible. It's literally just like in RJ's book...I don't even think about wine and I feel so good. (I just went to the liquor cabinet and took a sniff of wine to test myself - see if I would attack the bottle and I just shrugged and put it back). This is honestly the best I've felt in 20 years.

I recommend all the vitamins available in the health store and definitely the CDs...best money I've spent in a long time. They have literally made this a pleasurable experience instead of a nightmare so far (I'm still only starting out, so, we'll see what happens).

                    Good luck to you!

                        What the heck???

For those going through the sluggish period, are you taking your supplements?

At the very least multi-vits and Super Bs and Aminos (these are very inexpensive) and I can't recommend the GABA enough.

I repeat, I can't recommend the GABA enough. It seems to make a huge difference to me, I dissolve it in water. 750 mg in a.m. and 1500 mg in evenings - which is waaaay more than recommended by MWO, so please ask someone if this is okay.

I did read somewhere it was but always double check behind me. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL. I am a lay drunk. :H

However, the GABA truly seemed to help with the withdrawals.

Did I say, I can't recommend the GABA enough?

                        Best of luck, all.
                        Love,

                          What the heck???

                          Ooops

                          From a website:

It is recommended not to exceed 600 mg within a six-hour period and no more than 1200 mg within a 24-hour period. The effects of GABA will last up to 4 to 6 hours.

So, I guess I should reduce how much I take...
