am new here. i found the site in the summer. have been struggling ever since . in the last 2 to 3 months i quit drinking for about 1 week and then i stopped after work and bought some southern comfort and started all over again. now in the last 6 days i was AF for then last night i has a glass of wine. tonight i had 3 beers, today was stressful at work very. i need your support because i think with help i may be able to do this. i know i cannot continue the way things are. really when drinking, i don't have a life . i just stay home and drink. this is going to end. :new:

thanks for your support Dexterhead. I felt so good waking up knowing i didn't drink the night before. in fact last night i slept all night without waking up in the middle of the night . only thing is , i wonder if my impatience with the junior high school behavior of my coworkers wasn't a result of the pprocess of trying not to drink that i am undergoing?

Welcome Yesterday! you've landed on a great forum

lots of tools here and loads of advice..just ask.

trying not to overdrink is indeed a stressor and as such many of us decide it's just easier to abstain (AF) but you'll find what works for you and become more relaxed.

        again Welcome!

Yesterday! A thousand :welcome: to what I believe is the best site for those who really want to make a big change in thier lives, and it sounds from your post you are more than ready to make that change. I am also somewhat "new" here, been on since the 8th of January, and have been AF ever since. I won't lie, it has NOT been easy; but this site has great people whol have "been there, done that, got the tee-shirt" and are more than willing to provide support, open arms and lots of hugs!
When I finally decided to kick my old buddy AL out in the snow, I was pretty messed up! I would check into this site sometimes every 1/2 hour to get support, read a couple of different posts and see how others have struggled and succeeded in overcoming the beast.
You can do this! Check back here often! Join in the chat rooms, they can be pretty funny and uplifting! Post often..you will be amazed!
