Addiction - It may help you!

    Hi all,

I was flicking through my my Meditation to Heal your Life (by Louise L Hay) and found this cool mediatation on addiction- i thought i would share it with you all - i think it is very powerful and puts things into perpective - hope you get some insight from it... here it is:

Heavy dependence on anything outside myself is called "addiction". I can be addicted to drugs and alcohol, to sex and tobacco; and i can also be addicted to blaming or judging people, to illness, to debt, to being a victim, and to being rejected. Yet, I can move beyong these limitations. Being addicted is giving up my power to a substance or a habit. I can always take my power back! I choose to develop the positive habit of knowing that life is here for me. I am willing to forgive myself and move on. I have an eternal spirit that has always been with me, and it is here with me now. I relax and let go, and I remember to breathe as I release old habits and practice posivite one.
I FORGIVE MYSLEF, AND I SET MYSELF FREE!

Hope you found it useful! xx

I am "stealing" the last phrase for my signature. Hope that is okay?

                Hi Hope,

That is powerful! Thank you for sharing that with us!

I really love Louise Hay, remarkable woman! I recently re-read, You Can Heal Your Life, it has recently been made into a movie, excellent! I highly recomend both.

It takes work to be FREE! We are responsible for ourselves....? I know that god will bring me out of my mess. Its a long journey to fix all the mistakes i made along the way. I am sorry to my children if i was not a good mother, i believe i was, but i was young and look back, i would do things different now.

What a power filled post of TRUTH. Excellent contribution there HF22.

This forum is just as supportive as the womans group I am part of. We are all working for the betterment of ourselves. You are all wonderful people....

                  Thank you for listening.

Hi Ripple - I just read your post where you say
'Its a long journey to fix all the mistakes i made along the way" kind of took me back.... I think there is no human being out there that can say they have never made a mistake - no matter how big or small - this made me feel that you are still punishing yourself for past behaviour - STOP - this will kill you. I dont think its about fixing your past mistake I think its about acknowledging them and then doing it differently next time. At the time you made what you call mistake you didnt know any better, if you did you wouldnt have done it that way. The journey is gaining awareness from these experiences and doing it differently next time.

I offen look back at some of the fucked up things I have done (under the influence) and think OH MY GOD and then i have a giggle and think well that's what make me me - take the good with the bad.

                    Take Care x

I hope I am NOT punishing myself, i am just admitting, "i could have done things differently." I am so much appreciated now since I am kinder and aware of my actions. I am truly a good person with a heart that has gotten me in financial trouble. I am a giver not a taker by no means, in my opinion. I am learning and absorbing to be happier with me. Thank you for the reply, it means a lot to me.

                      Luv Ripple~

You're welcome - im glad to hear that you are not beating yrself up
I am a little like you give, give, give and forget to give to myself - that will change now that I am aware that i don't love myself enough.

Have a great day/afternoon or evening
