    ODAT - Friday

OK Janice, Rustop - stand back - I got in first today! Mwaaa hahaaaa haaaa!!! I set the alarm extra early! You'll not beat me! :H :H (only joking - just got up early cos I have sooooo much to do).

Adopting Janice's way of titling the thread. Much shorter - saves me valuable seconds in case someone is posting at the same time!

Hope all of you who post on here today have a good day and, though it is ODAT, are at least thinking about how best to be set up for success at the weekend. Another AF day under my belt yesterday - with a glass of AF wine - and I WILL have another AF day today.

So lots of love and luck to you all. :happyheart:

    ODAT - Friday

Hi Bessie and all to come

You go Bessie!! Have to say I love logging on and seeing the thread up and running, lazy I guess! Had another AF night and looking forward to an AF week-end. Just back from a 5 mile walk so feeling good. Have not been so good with the junk but am trying, it is the lesser of the two evils.

    Have a great week-end everyone.

I'm baaaacckkk! Gosh, I missed you guys! 10 days without ODAT was too much.

I will be posting a thread with details of my trip but on the whole it went well. One thing I realized being away is that I like routine and structure, kinda like a kid. Never use to be like that. Hated timetables, wanted spontaneity, adventure, I must be getting old.............and its true, I'm becoming my mother.
So Bessie, how's things? Universal, how's the BF?
      Suki? Everything alright?
      Russtop?
I got in last night late, of course my luggage failed to join me. Its still in London somewhere siteseeing.
      Good to be home

I'll let you into a secret Rustop - so do I! I'd much rather see it started and waiting for me. But I get withdrawal when it's not here so I have to start it! Well, I'd rather have an addiction to starting a thread on this site than all the other possible addictions I could have!!

Wish I'd been with you on the 5 mile walk. My two are crying out for a decent walk - they get a race round the field about 3 times a day and being lurchers they are pretty ok with that but I love the longer walks. When we have finished all this crazy conversion and it is up and running hopefully I can get back to a regular walking routine with them. Do us all the world of good.

And that's my view on the junk too - try to avoid but if it is a choice between that an Al, junk wins every time!

And FRN - things is good thanks! Glad to see you back and will seek out your post about your time away. And don't worry - we all turn into our mothers in the end!! Sorry about the luggage. Who did you fly with?

British Airways...... Saw wome great movies on the plane. I really enjoyed "Atonement" beautiful tear jerker.............I was bawling my eyes out in front of everyone. Didn't care. Maybe it was because I was coming home?!
And Michael Crighton (sp?) was good................then "The Valley of Ehal" was good too.........hey it was an 11 hour flight! Got stuck on the runway for another hour.

                    Welcome dowjbw

This One Day at A Time thread is very useful for those of us who need/want to approach our drinking just like that. Rather than stressing over days gone by or planning way ahead we just take it ODAT and this thread is a good one to check into to reinforce the message to ourselves. There are some very good people posting on here - regular and occasionals. It works for me - hope you find it useful too.

Hi everyone!! No chance of me starting the thread today Bessie!!! Just got on first time today. Lovely night last night with hubby BUT I did go over my limit and had quite a lot of wine.....we both did.....both of us had headaches this morning!! Don't feel guilty though as it was with a lovely meal and I can remember everything!!! Just finished work...our half term is this week so looking forward to just chilling, doing a bit of gardening...and a couple of days in Norfolk towards the end of the week, oh....and Rustop, some nice long walks - to blow the cobwebs off!!

Have a great weekend everyone......and thanks for being there!

Good morning everyone!! Or good evening or whatever time of day it is. Know we have members all over the world!!!!!

I am celebrating my 3rd day AF - the longest stretch since I started this gig. My goal is moderating, so this is a bit of a surprise to have gone 3 days with nothing. Am pondering this event.

Have a great day and weekend. Happy Friday!!

                            Croft,

3 days AF is so wonderful, especially considering you were a morning/afternoon/evening drinker before.

I would ponder trying to go for as long as possible. I know RJ's book recommends an initial 30 day AF period.

Are you taking the topa? How much.

Glad you are here and really happy to see you doing so well.

                            Love,

PS, my girl just reported she is on her 3rd Day AF!! Which, according to the doctor by the end of 6 months, her liver should be back to normal. So only 183 days to go.
