    hello, I joined today

This looks like an amazing supportive, inspirational and friendly site. I'm home from work today supposedly "working from home" but it is really because I am hung over. I don't sleep when I drink and I've been doing so much of it. I don't know why. I've been in real trouble with drinking for four years now. I've tried AA but am hesitant to go back because I fail at it. I'd like to talk to women because I feel alone and ashamed in all of this. I'm afraid. Deeply afraid that this is who I have become and that I will never stop.

Signing up for this is my first step on my first day.

    Hi seeker and :welcome:

No, you are not alone and please don`t feel ashamed.........we`ve all been exactly where you are. Things can and will get better for you. Start off by reading RJ`s book, then devise your own personal plan to tackle your drinking and take it from there.

    Love and strength to you.

Hi Seeker. Welcome! I think you'll love this site and you'll be very glad you found it. I *think* there are more women here, but the men here have the same problems and worries, so try not to worry about that, okay? Just read, read, read and post, post, post.

Hello Seeker! Welcome Welcome Welcome! This is a place where lives are changed, tears are shed, garbage is dumped and left to burn, hugs are plentiful, laughter comes out in the echos of computer noise effects, and you may even feel you know these crazy user names and personalities better than your next door neighbors. I also echo the advice ... Read the book "MY WAY OUT". It's an easy read - and in my case - Life changing. After a 20 year daily drinking habit - spun completely out of control - I am Alcohol Free 50 days and counting. I know that may not sound like much - but in MY life - it's life - vs - well the opposite. yes. Thats that for now. Welcome - Read and Seek - You will find amazing things!

                      Seeker,

I have been here for about 4 months now and find it truly helpful and inspirational. I have been a drinker most of my adult life with the last 5 years spiraling out of control. I have found MWO gives me the strength to get through the tough times just makes me feel good through the not so tough times. Stay on board. Read and post. Gabby

                            hello seeker,

I tried AA as well and it didnt work for me either - however one thing that I did learn is the first step - to admit that you are powerless over alcohol and that you life has become unmanageable. What exactly does that mean depends on you and your own interpretation. All I know is that its a terrible horrible thing that takes ahold of you and doesnt want to let go. You have the decision whether or not you want to shake it off for a few days, for a few months or forever - whichever its YOUR decision - but again the first step is the most important one in my book. Again welcome to this wonderful site full of the most loving and wonderful people that understand what you are going through - hang on, keep posting and most of all dont stop trying

                            hugs,
