    happy thoughts for your weekend

    Well - almost 6 PM here - time to move on with my weekend - travels
    Hope the gang is doing well and you are all enjoying the fruits of your wonderful efforts.
    FRN (Finally RN) I am so tickled for you ... You are "the calm in the storm" in your world. I liked the thoughts about what you would have been like had you been drinking. Made me think about some things happening in my life -- I could relate. It feels soooo good to be dealing with things with a CLEAR head!

                    Easter Morning

                    Liv,
                    Sorry I did not get a chance to check in yesterday, my weekends seem so much busier nowdays, and I can remember this morning what I did last night! So, catcching up..
                    Laughter! Mrs. BHOG says I am much more inclined to smile and laugh at things today as opposed to prior jan 8; we had a conversation yesterday morning about how much change I have seen in myself and how much change she has seen in me over the past 1 1/2 months. Both of us are happy with the changes, although as I commented to her, a large part of the money I used to spend at the package store I now spend at Home Depot. Her response, well, this way we get something out of it! Keep spending! (Just what I wanted to here..YES!)
                    Today is Easter; while I normally keep my religious beliefs and practices to myself, I will share this with everyone who cares to read it. Today is (for me) a celebration of Jesus' rising from the dead. In some very small way, I am reminded that each of us is rising from our past lives into a much better future as our AF days accumulate.
                    I have a lot to be thankful for today, my family in the past decade has grown from the 4 of us to 12! And we are having a family dinner today at 3:00 PM and I need to get busy on it!

                      Happy Easter all,
                      I love this thread, the messages we are given everyday. Today I feel humbled. Just like you BHOG, I have seen myself go through some changes that I really like. I knew I would. I did AF before but maybe this time I'm just ready for it and the lifestyle change. Before I thought I had control of my issues but managed over the course of a few years to get right back where I started, and here. But this time its different. Why? Maturity? Tired? Who knows and quite frankly I don't care, I just now welcome it. So today, I am on my knees being humble and yet in control of my behavior. I can't tell you how lucky I feel.

                            great! livin that lets me learn to make my choice either to bend my own goals trying to please people which i for sure know that i wont succeed or say to hell with what they think or believe as long as am not too selfish to hurt them in the process, but to stick to my goals.
                            it easier though just to do what i have to do not for anyone but for me and since i know its the right thing, thanks livin

                              Happy Monday all! As I spent Easter with my family I too was reminded of how gentle and wonderful these changes are beginning to feel. I felt a calmness I have not felt in a long time.
                              BHOG - I too celebrate the risen Lord - somehow I was not surprised to hear that from you too. lately I am reminded everyday how without Jesus I just couldn't make it through any day. He is my reason, my strength and my shelter.
                              FRN - You sound calmer and calmer with each post. I really believe we are seeing you blossom right before our eyes! All of the other AF runs you have had have prepared you for this.
                              Eastx - Friday is in the past - today is brand new for you to embrace - look forward and carry your goals with you today! You can do it!!

                                Thanks..do you read my mind? Seriously! One of the many projects I have undertaken since my freedom began is to live out the dreams I have for myself, to meet MY goals. I was meditating on this very subject today before I came to work, then I turn on the computer and there you are!
