    I'm just starting out.

:new: Hello to all, I am so glad I stumbled on to this site and to see that I am not alone in my quest. I am here for moderation, I enjoy my couple glasses of wine every day but my daughter has made comments about that so I have decided i need a little help to boost my willpower. I just ordered and received today (in 3 days!!) the Kudzu and L-Glutamine, I am presently taking Hydroxycut to help me in eating too much so I can loose the 10-15 pounds I want/need to. It is the caffeine brand so it has been working well, I am just wondering if anyone else takes any weight loss supplements and are there any effects? Thank you so much

        Starting out

        Hi,
Well done you. I am new too, logged on Monday for similar reasons. My 16 year old daughter is worried about how many glasses of wine I drink each evening and tells me off. My weight to needs to come down by a stone nad I do so well during the day then drink at night eat crips and go to bad mad with myself. This is the first time in years I have gone for 3 days AF and I am so chuffed. I had never seen AF used but have put a mantra round it " do I want to be AF alchol free nad absolutely fabulous or FA functioning alcholic ( I read it recently in a womans magazine and it worried me) and feeling F..ing awful. I dont know about you but I have found reading the comments really helpful and will continue to logg on::new:

Petpeeve, hi and :welcome:... There's lots of help and support here, keep reading and posting.

Sorry I can't help with info about the supps. Healthy eating, LOTS of water and being more active is what I rely on, although looking in the mirror I should look at an alternative... :H

          Good luck and happy posting...

My thought when I joined here was to tackle one problem at a time - drinking first. But welcome, and just keep reading and posting. You will figure out your own path.

                  I'm just starting out.

Thanks for all the replies and support. I am looking forward to this, just started with the L-Glutamine this morning and will be taking the Kudzu this afternoon.......hopefully i will not have the cravings tonight for a drink, or at least if i have one maybe that will be it.....Pickles, love that name too, i feel for you, my daugther is 17 and is being treated for bi-polar, being weaned down on her dosage for depression, she is in therapy and this whole ordeal has been very difficult emotionally for me, since I am a single parent. My older daugther and i discuss this alot and believe that it is a drilled-in thought on my youngest about over-drinking because when they used to go to their dads that's all he would do, not what you do with younger children. I am looking forward to an interesting weekend, keeping my fingers crossed!!! :new:

                    I'm just starting out.

Petpeeve, welcome. Good for you for making healthier choices for yourself.

I just want you to be careful of your caffiene intake (especailly with diet pills). Caffiene has been a huge trigger for alcohol (not just for me but for many here). It took me years to realize that. I would drink a pot or two of coffee a day. Of course, not be hungry because of all the caffiene and then the jitters and anxiety had me turning to alcohol. And the fact that I ate very little food has made my metabolism very slow for years. Ate only once a day for yrs, but I'm still overweight. So just be careful with caffiene, hun.

We are here for you. Good luck!

                    Love, Me

Thankful, thank you for your concern, the hydroxycut is caffeine free!! I've had those jittery feelings before, even from too much coffee and do not like them. I don't drink alot of caffeinated beverages either, coffee is usually decaf and i drink very little soda, if i do its diet. I drink alot of water, just will have to get used to contuining my intake of water past the 5 or 6 p.m. mark.....

Oh, ok. I thought you said it was a caffiene brand, so I just wanted to give you the heads up if it might be a trigger that you were unaware of. Glad to know that it isn't.

I too have had to cut down on my soda and I miss that more than the beer! lol

                        Best of luck to you.

Welcome Peeves and Pickle (what my LIVER is!!!:H:H) No really, I wish you a GRAND WELCOME to MWO!!! :welcome:We will be here to help you, my concern about the caffeine has already been addressed, but since you now said it is caffeine free, that changes everything..........good luck losing the weight, it just seems to fall off once you stop the AL, so you may find you don't need the hydroxycut after a while!! wouldn't that be great!!??

Read and post, sounds like you guys are already on the right paths..............

                          love,

                            I'm just starting out.

Hi, I'm new too, started last week, went on a trip and lost my CD called "Hypnosis". Does anyone out there have one that they are done with? I really don't want to buy another whole set, and I was feeling it working and don't want to use this as an excuse to backslide. Excuses are rampant!! To petpeeve, I remember Roberta saying in her book that the Topamax causes weight loss.
                            Thanks,
                            Consuela
