What do you think about this choice? You know about the addiction therapist. But I'm thinking eh.. I'm stalled and she knows it so why continue to talk about it at an hourly rate. I have AA, buddies on this site, couple friends I fessed up to. So I'm thinking personal trainer at the gym instead of therapist. (also keeping myself out of rehab) You pay up front and I'm the type of person that will show up having paid in advance. I think that's callled accountability on some level. It will force me into a regular exercise program and there is steam room and sauna which is good for detox. I need to get in the door even if it be by a kick in the arse. Once in the office parking lot a guy pulled in asking for directions. Somehow we got to talking (imagine that) and he told me the name of a personal trainer at the gym. It's amazing when the universe drops something in your lap and you toss it aside. So I'm thinking done with therapy (all three sessions) and get along little doggie and get on the plan. Speaking of little doggie, gotta walk and train her too. And spring is knocking at the door here. It's the perfect time. Am I being a dummy to abandon therapy? I can't afford both.

    Hi Greeneyes
It sounds like your head is in a good place and now it's your body's turn. I don't think you are a dummy at all! I try to excercise at least 4 days a week (I joined a gym) and it works wonders for body and brain!! You go!! Good for you!

I think that since you are stalled with the therapist, then going to the gym, especially with a personal trainer sounds like a great idea! Do it!!!!!

Yeah, you gotta watch out for the universe......it DOES try to get your attention and you're good to listen!

BB... It does. My heart is speaking to me. Why wallow on her couch when I could be investing in endorphins? And I think once I'm on track and have a new habit, I can go back to her if I need to. I don't mean to discount her at all; she's great and put me on my feet. But it's as if my inner voice is calling to me, and I must answer. Amazing what you hear if you listen. Wonder if last night's angel put gas in more than one tank?
