ODAT Sunday !

OK staying away from this ODAT thread isn't really working for me. I certainly don't belong on the long term mods thread and can't keep up with the March Madness - fabulous though it is. So, I'm back to starting/visiting the ODAT. It's the only way I can stay evenly vaguely focused!!

Having a REALLLLLLLY busy time and pretty stressed but it doesn't take a moment to visit the ODAT thread and start the day the right way! (like having a bowl of porridge or something!)

Fabulous morning here in the UK. Rained last night - we needed that. Lots of plants to pot up today, gonna a take ride out as I had to miss the last day of hunting yesterday :upset: A whole load of other jobs to get done. Had visitors recently and drank every day with them. They bought stacks of wine with them. And left a case of wine as a present!! That is going to be stowed away in the garage. Peaked last night. Back on track today.

Bessie, I can't tell you what it meant to me to see your name, posting ODAT for today! The cats ran out of the room when I screamed YIPPEE.

Seeing your name this morning is exactly what I needed today. Yesterday was a complete failure for me. I've spent the last 3 hours looking for my glasses.

Bessie, I am so glad to see your name on this thread! I've been thinking of you - I too have had some struggles this month - only have 4 AF days under my belt but I am determined.

Suki.........oh god, I have also done the "where are my glasses?" thing after a night of drinking - what a pain in the butt! I can relate!

To everyone else who follows have a great Sunday - I am off to dig out of this snow covered driveway (it's up to my knees - insane, anyhone who thinks snow is soft and fluffy should come here and shovel the damn stuff! LOL)

Uni, snow isn't soft and fluffy??? LOL Ours is very crunchy because of sleet after the snow. But it's so pretty! And the sun is actually out!!

Good morning all my ODAT friends,

We had enough snow yesterday to play in the morning but all gone by afternoon. Perfect!!

The grandkids and Papa were running around like mad yesterday morning throwing snowballs and have a lot of fun.

Just checking in.

Suki, I am determined to be AF through this week come hell or high water, let's do it one day at a time!!

Cindi, what perfect weather you have......snow in the morning, gone in the afternoon.

I went through hell and high water yesterday.

I need your help, doing ODAT. I'm with you this week. Have been so busy the last few years, now that I have time for myself, I don't know what to do. So I turn to Al. Rearranged the furniture in the dining room last night. Don't remember doing it, but like the way it looks AND found my glasses under the dining room table this morning.

I want to beat my 22 day AF record. I'm starting today with you. I need your support.

Glad you found your glasses Suki! Must be a real pain to be without. Not at that stage .... yet! Hubby bought himself a pair of those simple magnifying glasses just to help with the small print. He left them on top of the computer cabinet the other day and it was soooooo wierd to see them.

I'd been re-arranging furniture all day so in the evening I watched Atonement on DVD. Boy did I cry! Not so much at the film but just one frame. It was a retreat from the battlefield scene and in the background a soldier was just about to shoot his horse. I know that so many of them were killed despite surviving the war itself but it must have broken a lot of hearts to kill the very creature who had worked so hard for you. There is a play on in London - War Horse - based around the same idea. I could no more sit through that than fly to the moon.

Anyway. that's got's nothing to do with anything really. Just wanted to type something!!

And now I have revealed what a hopeless cry baby I am when anything sad happens to animals!

Morning Fairy, I have a great dog biscuit recipe to make in the microwave if you want it for your pups. Dogs love it, especially if it is shaped like a cat.

Bessie, I felt like Helen Keller without my glasses. Walking around my tiny place, arms stretched out feeling my way around. I agree, I can't look at anything, tv, movies, newspapers, relating to animal abuse. I have a kitty community on my deck. Three insulated dog houses for the strays who are there because people in the community decide that they don't want to take care of them anymore. Don't know what I'm going to do in the spring/summer. Don't know if they are going to expect the same comforts.

My grandparents had a stable with lots of horses. My mom and her sister rode competively, went on hunts, played polo. But she never wanted her kids to do the same, because it was so much work. I envy your hectic life and love hearing about it, but I know how much work it entails. If you decide to fly to the moon, let me know, I'll go with you!
