    Did I just get lucky???

Nope, he is now in the DC area. I am really grateful for the feedback given in the posts above.

He is very angry with me, and I am guessing I would rather blame AA than consider that I might actually be responsible for any of his anger. Not that I can do anything about it now.

I never did any of the things he accuses me of. He has some made-up notions in his head that are so far off track, I can't figure out where he comes up with them!

He is convinced his Dad was a child-abuser when he was about 10 or 11, because his Dad would find sacks of candy hidden under his bed, and take them away. He would steal money from us to go buy the candy.

        Did I just get lucky???

        Looking For Hope,

I have been in the recovery arena for six years now - since my first detox - two years sober in the middle - and with a whole new perspective on the 'help' that's out there now. Was initially very critical of AA - due to the protocols and the patriarchal language - but have decided to drop all that and use what I can these days, in my bid to find and maintain sobriety. As another member here said, take what you need and leave the rest. If anyone has a problem with you not working the program the way they think it should be work, so be it. Don't take it on, You're there for you, and I've come to accept that there are a lot of strong aspects about AA, esp, the fellowship of support; That's key. Seek out the broad-minded people. Avoid the purists. AA has to transform if it is to survive, and partially that is up to us ...

Power to you, Hang in there,
        Kayla
