It has really helped me get through these early and difficult days of being alcohol free. I am taking the maximun recommended, as I am not taking any of the recommended "pharmaceuticals".

That is mostly because I do not want to admit to my long time family physician how much trouble I have been in with alcohol. Not because I am opposed to these, mind you. I am just hoping I can do it without them, so I don't have to "own up" to him...

Maybe I should work on that?

It's hard FM I have not fessed up to my GP about how I was drinking. This site helped so much. I even went to detox and didn't learn half of what I learned here.

            An urge Vs a craving,..

To me(and this is only my thought).
A craving; is that awful stomach wrenching need to have what I am detoxing from, that all mind consuming WANT.
An urge is in a nutshell "A thought" and like all thoughts it too will pass.
The trick (for me) is to recoqnize it deal with it (meditation, mindfulness excercise, read, read or doing what it takes to get past the "thought".
These are some of the things that work for me .
            Love,
            John S.
